@misho
That what I have actually less voltage then that. I think 1.38 is good for mine to have that stable. I pushed it to 4.7GHZ~ that required 1.55v

@OCX600RR;
You're right!
I just didn't want to overvolt my ram but with 2.1v its 1Ghz stable.
Stressing the ram right now typing this and so far (15min) no errors
Im gonna try to get e8400 to 4.5Ghz right away.
Awesome man, good luck with it. I seriously cannot wait to get mine and start clocking that puppy haha.
Along with cool temps in the house comes cool temps on the CPU... running 29C right now at idle. Lowest I've ever seen!!!![]()

Alright, looks like i'm going to be buying the E8400 E0 from tankguys.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get shipment?
Would it be cool to run my e8400 at a corev of 1.47 and a vtt of alittle over 1.4 24/7 if I keep my core temps under 60c? Would I really have to worry? I have a Biostar tpower i45 and the voltage increments in bios are huge and its really limiting my overclocks.
Got another couple questions for you guys:
1) What's the best thermal paste? I've been using Arctic Silver 5 and so far it's worked best for me but I see alot of you guys are recommending MX-2. Which is better?
2) I've taken a look at the overclocking list in Excel and some of the E8400 E0's are at 4GHz with like 1.3v or something close to that. Are the numbers recorded in the list the MAX overclock for each batch chip or just what the user is running the chip at?

I have a problem getting to 4.2+Ghz with my E8400. (maximus Formula latest bios, good air cooled)
I have DDR2 800Mz wich i can run on 1Ghz stable on 2.1V. The funny thing is, i can only run it at 1Ghz when i do not oc my E8400.
When i leave the RAM Voltage on auto i can oc my CPU to 4Ghz resulting in my RAM running 890Mhz and that is stable and cool 14hrs stressed.
My E8400 needs 1.24/1.28V for this oc but i dont know how to manage the voltages for the cpu,ram,nb etcet.
At 4.2Ghz/910Mhz is a wall i cant pass, the system becomes unstable.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
I would love to c reference settings for 500*9 for a e8400.
And why do i have "A" stepping in cpuZ? (Vista32bit)
(Q827A345 pack date 14 aug 08 SLB9J)
@xpower;
I can run my E8400 with multi on 6.5 just fine, too bad does not change anything about my fsb wall.
I can run my RAM even on 1066Mhz 2.1V stable but i just cant oc my E8400 fsb above +-445 cpu-voltage on auto. (i cant boot setting cpu-voltage manual)
Mine is an A as well. I have DDR2 8800 (1100mhz) and have similar issues. I can run the chip over 4.5Ghz as long as the memory is not on the divider that gives me near 1100mhz. However I can back down to 4.4 and run 1100 on the ram. Seems that as the CPU gets clocked higher the memory affects stability of the overclock. Havent found a solution but for me it's either 4400/1105 or 4520/9x0.

thats a relief! thanks for letting me know.![]()
That is exactly my problem.
I was hoping my 4ghz@1.240V would go 4.5+, now i know why i cant reach that no matter what voltages.
Ill get new RAM soon, any suggestions for pc8500 2x2GB sticks?
Right now i am thinking of Dominator or Black Dragon.

CPUID: E8400 (C0) = 10676
CPUID: E8400 (E0) = 1067A
When CPU-z shows a stepping of A, that's a good thing!
For some unknown reason, the Intel Spec Finder for the new E0 processors has the wrong CPUID information listed:

dang i wish some of you guys had a gigabyte board..lol all you lucjy dogs with the ASUS boards.. i along with you all i cant get any higher than 4.0ghz on my E8400 co cause of my mem also. plus with my gigabyte board i have to really crank up the vcore to get it stable at 4.0ghz.
1.475v in bios and once said and done only 1.34v??? to get me up to 1.365v i have to hit like 1.600?? or something to run at 1.365v
i know the ASUS board mainly the P5Q models tend to like most mem. does anyone recomend any mem that will work fine with the gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R? you all kill me with these low vcores and high OC's im jelious of you all...lol its all about the board...

so, does it make any sense that i buy the DFI DK P45 T2RS + with my E0 E8500 ? I have felling that it might bend more than my asus P5K with crappy 500 FSB max.
