i like the board alot, i wish it could have 2 more usbs and inplace of the PS2 connections everything is going usb anyway. stock cooling looks wicked i like it alot and with that setup you would not need thermalrights =) , instead white mem slots make it black of silver or something. sata ports are really nice, are the last 4 going to be purple tho? if you use the stock cooling you loose the top pci slot =\. wheres the esata =(?????? darker color of blue on the pci e needs some masculinity lol.

i do like it and the biggest things id like to see changed is, the ps2s to usb, you loose that top pci slot with stock cooling,( isnt that top slot what the xfi titanium would connect to? ) and i really think that esata needs to be on the board atleast 1 but 2 is excelent, its so fast and i think people would like to have that option to use it. thats all i have

purple sata ports are the second sata controller, the ICH10R only supports up to 6 ports.

I'd skip from buying GReddy in the first place, they make parts for tuner noobies. Go with Blitz, Arc, or HKS, something along those lines. GReddy is budget level car parts. I think the board LOOKS like crap but how it performs I can't say =/

What is with this hating on PS2 and IDE?

I know my bench drive is IDE.

And i know my EVERYTHING keyboard is PS2.

I will boycott your mobo before I get rid of my 14 JAN 1986 IBM model M Buckling spring keyboard.

The PS2 controller probably costs about nothing and it takes up hardly any space on mobo.

They used to do that with the P35 series, it much better and more secure then those silly push pins. H/W RAID referes to the use of Silicon Image Sil5723 chips...trust me, it's total crap!

They destroyed the functionality of the Jmicron and Silicon Image chips, crippled them in bios!

NOOOOO!!!!!!, PS2 and IDE ned to DIE!!!
Seriously, if people keep using old crap we'll never get rid of them...if mobo mskers REMOVED that legacy rubbish it would force people to move over to SATA drives and USB keyboard/mouse...thus making more money.

no its not cramped, the board is actually very well layed out in terms of placement of all the major components, its the cooler system that is absolutely retarded, a high quality LOW PROFILE copper based cooling system would have worked out much better, hell even i could have come up with a better design. The only reason they do this is to catch the eyes of people who are more concerned about looks then functionality.

For an instant, I actually had my hopes up that something better was added. Maybe like a tiny little chip to help facilitate RAID 5/6 calcs? Bah. Don't know why I got my hopes up.

The flaming rainbow colors needed to die 5 years ago.

I love how they still haven't figured that out.

And eSATA add-in brackets is not what i want either.
Give me 8 SATA + 2 eSATA in the back, not via brackets which mean more mess in the case, & less space at the back brackets.

And LOL at the bricks hanging all over for cooling...err, i mean heatsinks.

Is there going to be a digital pwm version?
I'm getting sick of dealing with bad vdroop, and it seems like ud3+digital would be pretty nice in this department

From my understanding...Gigabyte is keeping a close eye on digital PWM. However, all current development in this area (by other companies) is being done for the server market and constant full load environments. As a result, these components don't really fit in well with technologies like Dynamic Energy Saver and they also command a pretty sizeable price premium over analog PWM.

vdrooping can be fixed by loadline calibration, digital need to pay more

Yeah, of course (and we are all waiting for that )

I was just trying to explain why there haven't been any digital PWM models yet

With e-SATAs at the rear I/O will cause more troubles than you ever think. The sata signal routing from the south-bridge travelling long way to the back panel, needs to pass thru several high frequency devices, especially avoiding the PCI-e bus is a hell of a job. Not only the routing issues, but also signal interference from other components will cause bad compatibility to HDDs. Most important of all, with e-SATAs at rear I/O try to connect over 2 meters of SATA cable, and you will find HDD compatibility is a big problem. Plus, where did you find extra power connectors for the HDD?

    i agree you,that's why gigabyte uses brackets(e-sata & power)
its simple, source from SB,even through the brackets ,your sata cables more than 200cm length still work great.

i dont think digital pwm has much to do with vdroop, vdroop was introduced only in recent years by intel, before that there wasnt much of a vdroop...
and a lot of people are using "digital" PWM solutions, all high end vgas, dfi, foxconn and even evga.

Oh, I have no clue if it does, I was just answering the digital PWM question (as it was recently explained to me) and included his vdroop comments by accident
