    Hey folks,
I'm considering this board for my htpc, with a Q9550 (slightly oc).

    My questions is:
    1) it is stable with this cpu? If so, which bios? I dont want to see a bsod with lenses.
    2) The extra sata ports can be used for a dvd and the boot drive? I need all 6 intel ports for my storage.

    SB Rig:
    | CPU: 2600K (L040B313T) | Cooling: H100 with 2x AP29 | Motherboard: Asrock P67 Extreme4 Gen3
    | RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1866 | Video: MSI gtx570 TF III
    | SSD: Crucial M4 128GB fw009 | HDDs: 2x GP 2TB, 2x Samsung F4 2TB
    | Audio: Cantatis Overture & Denon D7000 headphones | Case: Lian-Li T60 bench table
    | PSU: Seasonic X650 | Display: Samsung 2693HM 25,5"
    | OS: Windows7 Ultimate x64 SP1

    +Fanless Music Rig: | E5200 @0.9V

    +General surfing PC on sale | E8400 @4Ghz

    From a review on newegg:
The second SATA controler (two black head) does not support CD drives, only HDD, so to connect a CD you have you use either PATA or one of the 6 Intel SATA ports. Plan was to boot to one of the two, CD drive on the other, and use the 6 for a hardware RAID, but looks like a 3rd party PCI-E controller will be the option.

Looks like I either put the dvd on the one intel port, sacrifying it or I have to opt for another board. Which is a pity, i love my rampage formula and everything here is very similar (but with better quad support).

This board works very well with the Q9550 and you can OC the 9550 easily to around 3.7GHz with everything pretty much stock 3.8 if your chip is decent.(of course 4GHz is doable 24/7 also but voltages get a tad high)
The only thing I noticed is some ram modules cant handle all the dividers available on this board.
    Bios 1307 seems very stable
I'm not sure about the Sata ports
