Intel is having a tough job as DrWho said,with all the platform changes that were done with Nehalem.But it's a huge company with a lot of awesome engineers,they'll probably make it on time.
Its normal. I´m sure things like the Itanium gets even more validated than a K10 ever was or Nehalem.

Not sure what you try to spin out of it. That ohh its so hard to validate now? Along with its so hard AMD failed on K10?
