4870X2 3d mark 03 bugged score thread

We need futuremark to comment on this....and hopefully come out with a patch that could fix all of this.

The very first thing that needs to be done is that the black screen bug needs to be taken care of. We know what's causing that mostly.

And yes I know, and I don't understand why all of your guys scores are so low. When I install service pack 1 my scores become high EVERY TIME.

I'm going to wipe my drive and reinstall OSes but these latest runs i did all seem to be low bugged ?

so no black screen is real run? Maybe I need to prove no black screen ,200K+ score and take a video. Everyone need to trust this is real run because no black screen and no recovery display.

Not of all bug runs have black screen. So many people don't know how to run black screen, include you. Right?

Please don't tell me only black screen and recovery display are bug run.

Share with everyone what your "method to achieve 200K without black screen is" as it may help us determines WTF is going on with most of us getting low bug.
Personally, i dont think that the high runs are a bug - i used to get high runs without doing anything dodgy.

Gautam, do you have any other 3DMark's installed on your '03 system?

make sure you do full bios setup as well

and any tweaks you apply

since you want to make it scientific we should be able to replicate results heheheh

Hey guys, I am planning on making a video or even multiple videos of various 03 runs at various speeds.

My runs are reliable and I can get them any time.

I am planning on breaking 163k on tape this weekend at about 6320MHz, with the cards at 840/1080. If people want any other CPU speeds or GPU speeds for me to videotape, let me know and I will.

I will do complete runs, and I'm willing to do multiple runs back to back to show consistency too. My plan is to do 4 or so ~163k runs back to back. I'm confident I can do it.

As for the reason some people have much higher runs than others, I mostly believe it has to do with the build of Windows, though I don't understand why Tim's runs used to be high (142k at 4.8GHz is very good) and then suddenly got low (157k at 6.1 is not, I can get 157k probably at about 5.6-5.7)

I want to demonstrate what the refresh change does, but I think I'll do that in a seperate video, at 4.5GHz maybe.

I just make these cards very hot. Some bugs score will happen. Sometimes, you didn't see the black screen if test many many times.

IMO, high bugged scores can not be considered as the real ones. A VGA card, in default settings, which BEATS a highly overclocked 9800GX2 in 2K3, should have similar results in 2K5, 2K1 and most probably in AM3.

Yesterday I was trying to obtain high scores in a Vista Ultimate SP1 32Bit setup but with no luck. 86-88K marks with same settings as per above screenshots used in XP.

OK, I followed T_M's method. I "warmed up" my card by running a couple of AM3s, one 2K1 and one 2K3 in 830/920. First score obtained from 2K3 was normal (87K, no black screens no nothing). During the second run of 2K3 I get blacks screens in GT2, GT3 and GT4... bam... 100K score, Third consecutive run of 2K3 and I get not a single black screen though fps were going crazy... bam... 110K.
So what if use this method, during an LN2 session and video my "no black screen run", would that make my score legitimate????

Someone please change fan speed to something low and run '03 to see if boost is gained

My runs were all on air. I am pretty sure that when the card goes hot, then the bug is triggered.

Dino lets not focus just yet on the mechanics until we are sure it is caused by the heat of the card.
Please guys do some test runs to see if temperature affects score.

its not only 03 as when I have had single card run slow even am3 and 05' gt3 suffer so its an all over performance loss

But this is a bit controlable. I could "freeze" my 8600 to 6,2 and present this score as a real one.
The real issue is not to learn how to master this bug but how can it be identified.

What do you mean by the "fps were going crazy" and how many frames was it showing rendered by the end of GT2? If you can reproduce it take note of this.

the issue is finding out what casues the low gt2/3 bug, but dread your score
is one of a few which is a plain cheat/bugged on purpose run

we dont care about that as we are not tring for a overall bug, but to get the
true performance out of cfx and that is a 1300+/1100+ gt2/3 with a 6ghz
core2 as the normal as in no way as some said going from 5.4ghz e8500's
and 3870x2's in cfx are we supposed to see the same gt2/3's with the 4870x2's
