This happened to me today. I have been testing the 8400 E0 at 4.2 Ghz. I load up orthos blend and it craps out at 3 minutes. I get angry and restart it and the damn thing went for 14 hours.

Yea, these 45nm are frustrating. Just when you think you've gotten it... you don't!

Well now that the degradation / burn in period is over I can finally get some reproducable stable results.




This is game stable and multiple 4 hour runs of Prime small FFTs. 4480 looks to be stable at the same settings, once I hit 500 though I'm gonna need more vcore it looks like.

How i change my FSB: DRAM...it's 1:1 now...i have a ASUS P5KC, i wanna rise the FSB more, my ram can reach only 500mhz...how i change the FSB: DRAM ? ...did i have a option to change it on this damn ASUS P5KC ?

1:1 is the lowest you can go at least with P965 and P35. Maybe with an NV chipset.

Nice scores! Have you tested with 1.36v core, at what frequency can work, or with 9 multi ? Anyway you got a good overclocker !

i can prime for about 30 minutes at 4700, 1.39v vcore. but it is good for anything else. i played 4 or 5 hours of tf2 at 4700. but temps with this cpu are around 5-10c higher than my e8500 c0, at the same vcore. i also had that problem with my e8600. so while i would have no problems running 1.50v vcore to try for 5ghz, my idle temps would be over 50c, load temps over 80c. so not going to do it.

works great and ya the way mine's hooked up thiers a little comdensation but some closed cell foam stuck to the cpu block & the 3 blue waterblocks on the unit and your safe

So guys, i need to know quickly wich one is better stepping for E8400, the C0 or E0 ? I am buying E8400 but i dont know which one to buy.
Btw i asked a local store about the 8400 and they sayed that it will cost ~ 160 euros, that pretty big amount compared to a web store where you can get a 8400 like 140 euros.
