What are the likelyhoods of getting a E0 E8500? I'm about to drop the cash for one right now.

I have a somewhat good feeling that either way, I'm gonna see clocks upwards of 4.3 no matter what stepping I get. For the hell of it, results should be Friday.

My E8400 does 4.05Ghz stable at 1.28V. Seems pretty good.... its on a GA-965P-DS3 rev3.3
Boy that info was old. As am I. Currently my kids have taken over my desktops. They are both sporting matching GTX1080's. Last Christmas I got everyone Oculuses and thus GTX1080's. My eldest is some sort of CSGO champion gold label something or other. Me I work and shoot real guns. Build Comps as needed.

All the recent reviews at newegg seem to indicate they do not have E0 yet.

No, you have to go to a store and make sure you get the SLB9J for e8400 or SLB9K for e8500.

Well, damn it all. Why can't I still be living in the Houston area? Blast. May have to stick with the C0 which I suppose ain't -that- big a deal.

I might pick up one since at Fry's it still runs me over $200 with tax.

There was a rumor a while ago on OC Forums that clock for clock E0 might be slower than C0 steppings. I finally found a thorough review that shows when both processors are at the same MHz that there is virtually no difference in performance. Any slight difference favors E0. The only real difference is the E0 runs the same MHz at less voltage and when you start overclocking, the E0 has a lot more headroom.

    Ja. C0 e8500's usually max'ed out on air 4.1-4.2ghz. E0's go 4.3 to 4.5ghz on air.

You gotta have E0. I can't believe people are settling with 4ghz wolfdales. Even most e6850 cpu's did 4ghz stable on air or water.
