Thanks you solved my problem. I disabled Transaction Booster and the all is well. I can now go up to 10X440 with a 333 fsb strap. I can go much farther but it require too much Vcore for my taste. We have the identical settings but my Vcore is higher at 4.4 gig. Yes, I do have 4 1gig sticks.
AsRockP55, I7 860, Thermaltake 850 PS, Watercooled CPU, Windows7 SP1
Thanks for the help! I tested to lower the CPU to 7X and then I could run 540FSB (1080 memory) but not more.
I guess my 1066MHz memory does not work at higher speed. Maybe a volt increasement to 2.2V would help...
But could my E8600 be defective? It does not respond better to a volt increasement. Higher then 1.5V is a no no!
Still 540x10 or 540x9.5 or 540x9 would be better then my 7x now...
What is the voltage requirement for your CPU at 7X ? if it's already pretty high... you can be sure it will need 1.5 and more for those speeds you want, your watercooling prolly doesn't cut it...(what are ya temps ?) And it still could be a bios flaw or setting you overlooked...
why don't you use 500FSB and try to stabilize 8X... then 8.5 and hopefully 9 multi stable... more prolly needs advanced cooling
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
I keep my voltage at standard for the 7X, I think it's 1.25V, but I am not 100% sure..(at work now)
8.5 and 9 does not work. 8 works too. It's strange that my water cooling system does not do the work. I have 30 degrees on my NB and 45 on CPU. I have seen people getting 10x500 with air so I am very dissapointed on either the water cooling or the CPU.
I will try vFSB higer voltage tonight.
"P.S: And it is very risky to let your Vcore above 1.3 in everyday use."
I think not so risky....several folks have mentioned vCore 1.4v as the level to stay away from as well as higher vFSB (1.24+) for EO stepping dual core.

Today I got my Q820A606. For now nothing special, but not to bat either (first run- 4.5 at 1.4V real, stable (Im sure Ill get it bit higher too) I can do 3Dmark01 on 4650 at 1.4V, and the price 180€ was great, so im happy
What are your max 3dmark clocks on safe voltages?
i7 920, Evga X58 SLI, CF 4870/ 5870, 3x2GB Crucial
Water cooling, Single stage cooling, Bench table
Intel G2 SSD, WD 640Gb, G5, G15, NEC 2470 WVX, 970P...
some chips can only run said vcore if the temp given to the core is so and soBut could my E8600 be defective? It does not respond better to a volt increasement. Higher then 1.5V is a no no!
Ive used many e8600's some will not even take 1.4v on air cooling 'as in set higher and it will no post/shut down' but when these chips have touched ln2 the colder the pot got the higher the vcore i could add
so becasue the chip/board doesnt work on air/water doesnt mean its bad if you need more than 1.5v I hope oyur tring to run subzero, but defective chip no way defective would be 333x10@1.1v not working
hope this helps

If I drop even one notch on the vcore it fails occt in 15 min or less. Temps get to 60C at load, so probably not too much more headroom unless I decide to go with water for a 24/7 OC.

Anyone finding with these chips you'll get a BSOD with a Machine_Exception_Check?
Mine is stable at 4.6ghz but anything past that and I start getting those MEC BSODs.
quick question just picked up a E8600 E0 whats highest safest volts for air (Tuniq Tower) to go? staying under 1.4v? going to be for a friend so im overclocking for him![]()

If I have a stuck senor is that grounds for RMA?
And who do I return it to, PC store or Intel.
Store policy is 90 days first 15 direct replacement, missed the first 15 deadline but I'm well within 90 days.
One of my cores is stuck at 37 but when above this it works and this has happened on two of my e8600 but they are both good overclockers so im gonna keep mine.
