That value sets the amount of the increment if you would go ahead and set the memory delays manually, all BIOSes before 5/02 did not have this option and 70 picoseconds was the default ever since 9/13 BIOS. Early BIOSes went by increment of 1, e.g DIMM1 1-1-9-6 DIMM2 1-1-9-5 or 100ps-100ps-900ps-600ps...etc.

This is how it looks on LP x48:

I really would like to see DS, DDS and Skew Model making its way into LP P35 BIOS.

Thanks! I don't fully understand what it is I am setting, or how it came to the default of 160ps for my particular system. I will just leave it as is as long as my system is stable unless I can find a good reason to change it, and know what I can change it to, to add to stability and/or performance.

As for those options, they would be nice but I highly doubt it. The UT P35 has been out for over a year now and the last bios update has been nearly 3.5 months. I am sure they are going to focus on newer boards since the P35 is pretty much rock solid for anyone. Anything else they change would be a bonus and not a necessity. We can all hope though.

Do you think this board is better than a P5Q for overclocking a quad and running a 4870x2?

Help! I just got an e8600 and popped in my board, but I cannot increase the voltage past about 1.34v, If I do the comptuer restarts like it does when there is a bigger change to reset the cpu core v or a high fsb ect, It comes on for about a second or less then shuts off. I have to reset the cmos to get it start up again. It will run fine a 1.34v. My old q6600 would take 1.55v on this board so I am really confused here. If anyone has any ideas that would be great, I have tried everything I can think of including different staps, but it seems like its another problem, because the board wont start up for more than a second....

Set vcore below 1.34 & use Special add, mine does exactly the same.

Thanks I did that and it worked! But now I want to go above 470 fsb and it does the same thing when I try to go above it? Any work around for this?

I have never had a fsb issue with my board infact I don't think I've ever had a CPU that wouldn't do at least 500fsb quads included. Why don't you post up your settings I'm sure someone can help.

GTL's will likely be the key to getting the fsb try around 60 +- 5 or so & see if that helps.

Ok I cannot get above 470 fsb, I think I have tried just about everything except gtl... I have tried everything stock except nb volts and cpu multipler to try and get 480 or 500, but no go. Anyone have any ideas or any gtl settings that I should try...
Nothing that I have tried will post with above 470... Either the computer turns on, but no screen or movement, or it turns on for a second and then turns off. Please help I am lost at why this is happening.

EDIT: ALSO chipest temp in bios is around 44 to 49, but in windows w/smart guardian and everest it shows about 33. It is watercooled with a mcw30 and I have tried reseating it...

I reseated the cpu, it worked with 480 and passed post, but I had volts way too low and then it crashed on the way to windows, but Now it even turns off at 470.....

    start by updating your sig
its way too easy to go 550fsb on this board
heres a start :set you vtt to 1.7 all 3 gtls to 68
    nb to 1.42v
set cpu to default dissable next setting
add 114% n work from there
    use 333 or 400 divider
if you cant do it get a hammer

Thanks, updated sig! that worked at least it restarted correctly and posted! nb is 1.41, and as for the vtt... well it didnt go that high for the e8600 lol, but I did 1.2 and that worked. The gtls was at 110 when I enabled it, going to 68 is a huge drop is this safe for the e8600? Thanks

EDIT: I did a little researching on the gtl stuff, seems like 68 is close, I dont really understand it well though....

Thanks and the % corrollates to the number right in a 1:1 ratio? What settings did you use for your e8600 @ 4.6. I'm trying to get 4.6 stable, but having issues...

I cannot run Ch Clock Crossing Setting: More Aggressive anymore on the LT, I had no problem on older UT version, also the memory delays greatly differ from those using same settings, maybe do to the different revision?

I tried 4.6 with about every possible setting, well not everypossible, but a little of everything and prime would fail within 1 minute with small fft. I only went to 1.24-1.44 on volts tho. I bumped it down to 4.5 @1.42 and its been stable so far 20min+ I have a feeling it will be at least 1 hour stable... maybe 12+... but I could be wrong. Its 73C max so far.. Kinda high it seems. If it is stable I will see how close to 4.6 I can get... Its too bad, because I bet I could boot into windows with 5ghz at 1.5volts... but no stability for sure.... This is only day 1 of trials tho, I got a long ways to go :P If anyone has anymore tips I would be greatful, thanks zsamz and c-n for your help so far

hello, since i have added an hd4870x2 to my system i am experiencing weird problems from which i dont know whats causing them. first off, i get that annyoing "the display driver has stopped working but was recovered..." in vista, but only with aero turned on. the bigger issue though is that i cant do 3d at all, either i get a bsod or the pc just reboots itself with a black screen. this only happens in vista home premium 64 sp1 though, in xp i didnt have a crash or whatsoever yet.
in vista i have tried four different driver sets for the x2 already and also tried with and without overclocked cpu. no success. now i am not sure what could be the reason. could it be the mainboard? i doubt that though since the user "C-N" stated that his x2 "works like a champ" on this board. but it seems he doesnt have a 64 bit os judging from his signature.
i was thinking maybe its the combination of p35 + vista64 + x2 (maybe + q6600)... but as i said i dont know thats why i am asking here.
ive already considered buying a new p45 mobo in hope that it will solve my problems but theres no guarentee and id rather not replace this board.
do you have any idea? thanks in advance...

It's a bit chilly here, around 52F so i decided to test my cpu a bit:
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=417662
Q6600 G0 @ 8x450MHz=3600MHz @ 1.425V, rather good voltage for this fsb and freq., prime screen coming after it has finished more then 12hrs.
After i find max fsb i test for max freq. at x9 multi.
    NB vcore @ 1.50V, VTT @ 1.53V and GTL settings @ 102,101 and 105.

I see a similar thing with BIOS 0521, I can hold PL6 on the 266 strap well over 1200mhz with earlier BIOS's but with 0521 I have to use PL7 & pull in all the phases.

My 4870X2 runs great on my DFI P35 but like you say I have only ever run XP SP2 or Vista 32Bit so it is possible you are seeing a 64 bit issue

I am using the BETA 8.9 drivers but retail 8.8 was fine.

The only way I can get my driver to stop responding if I run an unstable setup, overclock the card to far, overheat the card, or push the PCI-E frequency up too high.

^ i havent even touched the clocks from the graphics card yet, so no oc for me. and the temps seem normal too (idle: ~62/48) with 8.52.6 drivers in xp and 8.52.2 in vista.
i havent changed the pcie frequency either.

i really have no idea what the issue with this card and apparently vista x64 is

Vista x64 has been tricky in general but in particular with my 3870. Maybe an ATI issue?

Q6600 G0 @ 8x450MHz=3600MHz @ 1.425V, rather good voltage for this fsb and freq., prime screen coming after it has finished more then 12hrs.
After i find max fsb i test for max freq. at x9 multi.
    NB vcore @ 1.50V, VTT @ 1.53V and GTL settings @ 102,101 and 105.
looking good bro! i have the same voltages but a bit higher FSB... CPU-Z. i can't find my screenshot of it being prime stable x8hours

i am not sure really. could be or not, but i have seen many happy vista x64 users with their x2.

Just did 8x460MHz @ 1.43V 6,7hrs prime stable and it crashed during the night. Still not stable enough for me, need some more fine tuning i guess although in games, work and stuff is rock stable.
Seems like a good cpu, does 3.2GHz on def. voltage, perhaps i can try to reach 500MHz for a few hours priming just to see if it can handle it.
Guys, what's top NB and GTL voltage recommended for 24/7 usage with active cooling? (92mm fan over NB)
