Robilar I have the same batch as you. (Canada Computers, by any chance? )

So far, I've been able to get it to Linpack stable for 5 runs on IntelBurnTest at 4.3GHz on 1.36v on my Maximus/Rampage Formula. What are you getting out of the chip so far on the real X48?

It also looks like mine has stuck sensors. 40*C and they won't go any lower. They don't start to move until I put the chip under load. Should I return it and get another one?

Mine don't have stuck sensors at all (I was quite pleased as my QX9650 was a mess)

I just started runs on the chip. now that 4 ghz is out of the way, I'm going to start moving it up.

    Damn

Maybe I'll take it back tomorrow and see if they'll switch it due to the stuck sensors.

I'll have to see how good of a chip it is before I do that though!

    Another Q822A435 - VID = 1.1875

IHS is warped pretty bad so really needs lapping, but I guess voiding warranty should be worth it.. (!?)

    Quick test:

gtl's will play a big part in settling the chip down, so will pll
I ran a 8600 on my MF board and found it was hard to get 4500 stable

I tried a few different ways to get up to 4.4GHz.

440x10 and lowered the CPU GTL to X.63 1.40 vcore (Windows) and I still get a BSOD after about a minute of Linpack.
464x9.5 same GTL and same vcore...same result.

I bumped vcore up to 1.45 and still get the BSOD.

So either I get no scaling after 4.3GHz with 1.36v, or there's some settings I need to tweak more. I can't get another 100MHz out of this bad boy...

Try loosening your timings and or mhz on memory.

5-5-5-18-55 if possible and memory stay around your stock speed mhz for now.

    GTL's 61-64 i read somewhere.

1.36v is max i would ever do.

My RAM is good at those speeds. I've run it at a higher speed with a higher FSB and it does Prime Blend, mt201 and Linpack no problem.

To get to 4.4GHz I dropped the FSB to 464 and upped the multi to 9.5, so there's actually less stress on the RAM. Then I dropped FSB to 440 and multi up to 10, and so the RAM was at 1057 and still no luck with the 4.4GHz even above 1.41v...
