NEVERMIND! After watching Prime 95 crash after 5 seconds at 3.33ghz, I decided to take out one of the sticks of RAM to see how it worked. After 10 minutes on 1 stick, i had no errors. I shut down, swapped sticks of RAM in the same slot, and I couldn't even get to the windows xp splash screen. I loaded up memtest86 and this 1 stick is throwing out errors like Paris Hilton does ugly. I put the other stick back in and all is fine.
Time to RMA this stuff... never had a problem with Corsair RAM before. Could my BIOS settings have killed it? The highest i've ever run my ram in bios was 2.1v, but I belive today before it died i was running it at 2.02v.
2.1v on My board would be 2.2v...

Keep the Faith!
I doubt your XP install is corrupted. It's weird too, because I got pretty much the same thing! I was fine and rock stable 1201, then started getting instability at the previously stable settings, so I upgraded to BIOS 1306, then I started getting massive instability issues, worse than using 1201. I have also tried down-flashing to 1201 then 0803, and the problem has persisted. I can't get 5 passes of linpack stable now at all, unless I use PL 10 which gives me very slow performance. I got it to pass using PL 7, and then my pc failed to reboot after passing 5 passes, go figure, that has me really confused. I think BIOS 1306 really screwed something up. However the problem presented itself using 1201 and I went from rock stable to unstable overnight.
Sounds like we all have similar issues. This is doing my head in, I have never had such a flakey dodgey board, seriously. Very disappointed in Asus. I have tried clearing CMOS, swapping ram, & swapping PSU. I have tested al my gear seperately and together in my mates P5K and all my gear is totally fine.

I have (not using my board) and it's fine, all my gear is fine using my mates board. I have also tried brand new ram, running in single channel, swapped mem slots, and tried a new psu and the issue was identical. I'm quite sure it is my board I'm sure causing all of these issues.

Have you tried to run lower RAM clock? I have a Corsair Kit that runs fine @1150 on my P35 but on this board it is not solid stable with anything above 1000. I think it's worthed to try that.
So far, I think the Powerchip based RAMs are the ones working best with this board for 24/7 setups.
I love my D9's though, I'd hate to have to either downclock my ram (this board & chipset *should* be better than the P35 as it is a new release) or use powerchip based ram.
OK I'm doing some testing with BIOS 1306. I just cleared my cmos again, left the jumper on clear for about 20mins, and now after resetting the bios settings, my vdimm is overvolting bios value by 0.06v (like it did originally, when I got the board, it overvolted by 0.09v). Last night before I cleared cmos it was undervolting bios value by 0.02v. Also now the vNB is overvolting by 0.02v, whereas last night it was undervolting by 0.02v.

What specific issues are you having with it? I am not happy with it either, as you can see reading all my posts.
A few people have issues with this board in general, I'm not sure it can be pinned down to D9 based ram causing the issues, as there are people using D9'd with no issues.
**UPDATE** - I can get the pc to pass linpack, using 1.28v vNB, 2.12v vdimm - the problem is after it passes the tests and I reboot the system, it wont post. This is absolutely ridiculous.

The guys that have probs just RMA the boards... this is one of the risks we take with flashing alpha and beta biosses... it's pretty sad to see the thread evolve from love and praise to this... but this is also the price to pay when pushing hardware to it's limits, I never push as hard as some here for 24/7 use, surely not on the ram...( I learned that from my 680i days) till now my board has been operating flawlessly with 400-450FSB with the quad and 500FSB with the Wolfdale 24/7... mobo is well cooled by the big side fan... Hope you guys get it fixed...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
I did originally like this board, apart from the fact it wouldn't do DDR 1200. It has degraded and so has my appreciation of it as a result. I'm just reporting the facts. Also in this day and age, DDR 1186 (that I run 24/7) is not considered 'pushing' the ram, most D9 can do DDR 1200 easily at 2.0 - 2.2v. The P45 chipset should be able to do that, as guys have been doing that on the P35 boards since their release.
Thing is though, Asus are so bad with RMA's, often taking months to in all likelihood send your original board back with a note saying "it works fine" when you know for a fact it doesn't. If I have to RMA, I also have to buy a new board to immediately replace it, as I use the computer for work every day.

I can just swap the mobo here the first 2 years at the PC shop from there on it goes to Asus... but the mobo has to be practically dead as the shop tests it too... Oc'ing they do NO warrant, which is logic, if it runs flawless at stock it's okay for them... Think the no 1200 was already an indication something was wrong with ya mobo as I've not experienced any holes with my Gskill ram set and the Dlx and E board... but I need 2.35 volts for them to get them stable which is too much for my liking as the rams get pretty hot, so I use that kit only for benching...and I prefer to have 4Gb to work with daily... which I "only" run at 1066-1081mhz on the boards. I suspect a degraded NB in your case mate, but also you got weird results on the voltages which is not a good sign either...
Did your heatpipe get pretty warm or did it stay pretty cold ? Have you replaced the TIM ? Have you tried using the other bios ?

Hmmm, it is either because of the X64bits XP but there is no way I can pass Intelburntest linpack( 1.51 from GODagent), on 32bits XP and previous BIOS: 1201 it did... even now when downclocked cpu at a voltage I would know it is 100% stable ever since I flashed to 1306:S I did a fort and back flash the last couple of days, weird thing is 1306 allow me to prime with lower volts ( like 2 notches) whereas previous bios it would failed within minutes, now priming couple of hours still going strong.... I will try HCI memtest to test the ram later on. Any1 got problems with passing intelburntest 1.51?
Hoi Leefhoofd, what BIOS u are on m8?

I can't pass linpack since AgentGod has updated it... with 1306 I too can run 2 notches lower on Vcore. The rig is still folding, gamed upon each nite, no signs of instability whatsoever...
I can pass AgentGod's test if I limit it too 2048mb, but not at 3000 which I did before 1.51 version... I always have been on XP64. I tried the normal Vcore (so 2 settings higher from now and even more as for the rest 1306 didn't require any voltage settings here ) yet the linpack does nothing, it stops responding and occasionally it reboots my rig... Prime, OCCT all pass no prob...
It would have been nice to have a heavy bench that would give conclusive results in a flash, but it's too heavy on the hardware for me... so I skip the new version (hope I still have a copy of the old one around)

Did you try upping vFSB like i suggested. My board will do this if vFSB is too low. Sounds like your not far off stable.
Still much love from me for this board. You just gotta be real methological when setting it up. New bios' can also bring instabilities as they need different settings\voltages to other bios'. Agreed though, there could be some bad boards around. I hope these last few pages dont put people off getting this board because for me it is running sweet.

I only had 7 days from date of purchase to return it to the place of purchase for a direct replacement, and 1 month to return it to the place of purchase whereupon they send it to asus for testing and I have to wait for that process to complete - it is pretty much the same as me sending it directly to asus. I know overclocking is not guaranteed, but it wont even run stock FSB and DDR 1200 although my ram can obviously do 1200 with ease. I have not replaced the TIM, nor removed the heat pipe assembly. The board is as it came out of the box.
My board is probably disfunctional in some way, but asus are so bad to deal with (a mate of mine has waited 5 months for his RMA so far with no replacement yet & no response to emails) so I don't want to deal with them. They are almost as bad as TeamGroup in terms of RMA's. They may take your gear, but they sure as hell won't send you new gear in replacement. This P5Q-Deluxe is probably the last Asus board I will ever buy if a) I can't get it to work (very likely) and b) if I can't get a replacement from asus in a timely fashion
Thing is there is no tech support number I can call in Australia, just an email service.
Yep, and it did nothing. Still the same. I can get it to pass linpack, then I restart and it fails to post. Other times I can get it to run but fail linpack, and it will restart fine. So basically if it is stable in stress tests, it wont post on reboot, if it is unstable in stress tests, it will reboot. Also at other times, I can get it to pass linpack, then reboot ok, but when I run linpack again at exactly the same settings, it fails.
