if so thats very cool always wondered how you guys managed to fit 3 irams on a benching setup
you can buy those raiser PCI cards on ebay as well but this is a better solution as you are using the power on another machine

That's an old model btw. The new one takes DDR2, and Doesn't use a PCI slot.

Gom, congrats on the score It seems that PCM is becoming a lost art and takes almost as much effort as any of the top 3D scores do.

Do you have a link to the new one, I didn't know that it had been released I do remember them talking about it a long time ago, but I thought it was dropped.

Linkage? I was never told there was a DDR2 i-RAM and none of my Gigabyte contacts knew of one

Great result. This really is one of my favourite Benchies.

How many DDR sticks did you use on each i-Ram and which size? Is there lesser performance with just one stick on each i-Ram?

We had 2 sticks in each i-ram. I will actually be testing 1, 2, 3, and 4 sticks per i-ram to see if there is any improvement. Will know more next week.

Which size? 512MB? Did you only run the Benchmark on the clean i-Ram raid partition or did you use a fresh imaged OS on the Raid and ran it on that? A lot of questions but im curious about that as i never used an i-Ram Raid for that Benchie

Believe it was a 512mb and 1gb stick per i-ram. Benchmark on the i-rams, HDD for the OS. Next up I'm eliminating the HDD if I run out of SATA ports

CAT, n. A soft, indestructible automaton provided by nature to be kicked when things go wrong in the domestic circle.
Beware, these devices can be more frustrating than they are worth. Their level of wariness and dexterity increases proportionately as your individual level of consternation, frustration, anger, etc increases resulting in less than desired results.

Agreed but they are so useful to kick when you do achieve less than desired results

Just a little bump to this, I'll be revisiting this test by myself in the next week with a brand new QX9650 I was simply testing i-ram scaling and got a bit carried away.

    E8600 @ 600x100
    GA-EP45T-Extreme
    Corsair 1800C7 Dominators
    Diamond HD 4870 @ 790/1100
    5x Gigabyte i-ram
    1x Seagate 7200.10

    25384 PCMarks
    HWBot Link
    Orb Link

System Image Bottom Right PC is main rig with 1 i-ram, top right has 2 i-rams, bottom left has 2 i-rams.

    Hard-drive throughput Test. 1.2 GB/s anyone?

The actual PCMark submission for HWBot/ORB was pathetic due to the multi-threaded test hammering the CPU so badly that the virus scan plummeted. I pulled a 211mb/s XP Startup, 222mb/s general usage, and 258mb/s Virus Scan. The Virus Scan is so terribly low due to the Multithreaded Test 3 having more threads than I have available cores and therefore trashing performance. 250mb/s in the MT3 test versus 1200mb/s when it's run solo.. can't wait till I have my QX9650.

Ah ok so thats how it does it. I was just able to run PCMark05 tonight as I setup up my Raid for benching with Vista 32, PCMark would not run on 64.

I was looking for a score like PCMark Vantage shows.

Just fyi. I reset the SSD Raid to Raid 0, started installing Vista Ultimate 32 and was on the desktop in ~8 minutes.

You know what's even faster? Transferring an XP image from one partition on the i-rams to another partition Only have 5 gigs of storage though, used XP for initial testing.
