you gotta leave cpu @ default n use special add%
for more that 114% volts you gotta dissable max limit
    i'm runnin 521 bios
    i'm stable till 4.1@1.17v
    chek your volts after second boot i thought i was @ 1.38 n i was @ 1.44
    bios special add is buggy
they need to release a bios for the new rev hopefully we wont have to use special add% one day

    Hi,

I have just bought the E8600 CPU and after installing it on my UT P35 it doesn´t boot, only the fans are running. I have the the 05/21 Bios and the board works well with my old E8500 and E8400.

take the battery out you shoulda cleared cmos before you put it in
it needs default voltage to boot n you can only use special add

That didn't work. I put it on Abit IP35... It works! Bios(Abit's) says that CPU temperature is 95C and RealTemp says 31C. So is it possible that DFI won't let me boot because the CPU temperature is too high? Bios readings are just incorrect.

I really want to use this chip on DFI.

No, and no. The only way to change it is with Memset, in windows.

thanks for the responses guys. its seems that this board at 200/800 lowers the performance level and ups the refresh period thus making the board more stable. and at 266/667 it ups the performance level but lowers the refresh period making it instable.

Yes, it is also mentioned on that famous review of the board at Anandtech that 266/667 and 333/800 straps offer best ram performance.

    Problem with Hardware Virtualization

    Hi guys,

I have a problem which is unrelated to overclocking and tweaking but if you can help me I will greatly appreciate it.

Well my problem is that I can't start any OS on a virtual machine if I use Hardware Virtualization enabled , and I have to turn it off (in the virtualization program settings) so it could work. My CPU is an E8400, i have the last version of bios installed(21/05/2008), CPU virtualization option set to enabled in bios, and no overclock.
I tried with 3 different programs(Vmware, Paralles Workstation, Microsoft VirtualPC) and both on Windows XP and Vista x64, and I got the same thing.

At these point only the motherbord bios or the CPU is at fault. I know that its almost impossible that the CPU to be at fault, but you never know...

If anyone tried using virtual machines with the Hardware virtualization enabled on DFI LP UT/LT P35 and it worked, please confirm.
Or if someone has 10-15 minutes to spare and try. You could download and install MS Virtual PC 2007 because its free (from here), set hardware virtualization in bios and in program options to enabled and try to install windows xp/2003/vista. My virtual machine stops in Windows Setup at "Setup is starting Windows" and get an error box(pic below).

Hope someone can help me. Thanks

This can't be true. VTT voltage can't be that high. I have set it to 1.10V (BIOS).
I tried all these bioses: 03/17 , 05/02 and 05/21. All have the same problem.

Edit: Ok, DMM says it's 1.09V. No panic.

I haven't been religiously keeping up with this thread like I used to, so please forgive me if this question has already been asked/answered.

I finally got around to flashing my board with 5/21. I was previously running 3/17 with zero issues so figured I would stick with that. Curiosity got the better of me this morning so I decided to try 5/21 which has been official for a couple months now. Everything looks fairly similar to 3/17 except for two new options.

What exactly is this and how should it be set for best performance/stability?

    TFINE ITEM VALUE DEGREE

Mine defaulted to 160 and I left it at that. No clue if lowering it does anything, and if so what exactly does it affect. Anyone have any info on exactly what this new listing is in the bios and what it should be set at?

    Thanks!
