I am maximally irritated by the presumption of guilt over here. As though proof provides redemption against some imaginary fakery that did not occur in the first place.

I am amazed that Gabe caters so much to this crowd when they treat him so badly.

Has *anyone* ever put Eddy of EK through such rigor ?!? The level of preferential treatment is stunning. And it has nothing to do with any of my preferences for Swiftech equipment, which is again another myth, because a lot of my equipment now isn't Swiftech.

The thing is, in regards to Swiftech's testing data they are damned if they do, damned if they don't. I know it is frustrating for them in this respect. They honestly have some of the best test equipment I've ever seen but people are always quick to discard manufacturer's data - no matter the product and sometimes this is justified, sometimes not. I mean, Swiftech do LOTS of testing, there is no doubt. I would say they test and retest more than any mfgr around. Whether you choose to believe their data is up to you, but like I said I have no reason to doubt it.

To the others here, who I know and consider friends.
There's been some things said here that shouldn't have been.
Came across even to me who knows you as not exactly friendly.
Shall we say that this was said due to excitement over wanting to see results and bury this?
Some honest advice here:
Never,Never,Never write in anger. I've made that mistake a few times and lived to regret it.
Never let the little things in life such as a hobby get in the way of the more important things such as friendships.
It just isn't worth it and what are we talking about realistically?
If one waterblock runs at 1-2C hotter than another?
In day to day use what damned difference does it make unless your system is at the absolute limits of it's cooling and then realistically you should probably have a bigger radiator or add another or increase the fans cabability to whisk away that heat.
I'm not expert here, far from it, but losing friendships over this is just plain dumb.
Now I'm going to say this and hopefully the people involved don't get their panties in a bunch over it but there's two people here that I beleive owe Andy an apology.
He's too good a guy for the treatment he got here tonight.

The only incident I remember of Eddy being hassled was over the mounting mechanism on a first rev X38-compatible waterblock. There may have been something about a nickel plated FC R600 waterblock, too, but I don't remember. Certainly, though, Eddy hasn't been taunted as much as Gabe has in this thread. I just read through the past 4 pages.

I kinda figure the mcw60 is the next for a big upgrade.
Its a fairly older cooler and seems to be (up to the task)
as far as newer gpus go for adaptibility and performance.

Make that 38 mounts now plus several I didn't count just experimenting....there's alot of blocks sitting here about a dozen or so, starting out with 3 mounts for the first run through on each block, then validating with two more mounts on another day. Some blocks are getting muliple runs for nozzle changes....

But yeah, I've gone through ALOT of thermal paste already and the skin on my fingers hurts from all the mounting...

I still have a ways to go, but so far my validation is checking out really good

Dammitalltohell! Couldn't wait for the pressure drop test results. Bought one early this morning from PPC's....on "sale" at $59....and I'll probably regret it, what with it going in a 4 block loop.

Oh well, I'll never learn about being an early adopter guinea pig........

Sorry I'm taking so long, I'm having a really hard time with ambient temperatures and repeating tests, so my stuff is going to take a while yet.

But for flow, don't worry too much about it, the GTZ is not an extremely restrictive block, it's more average to average/high.

I havn't done pressure drop testing yet, but I have been recording as tested or resulting flow rates that I get with an XSPC res top DDC3.2 and TFC 480 with my flow meter. Here are some relative flow rates to give you an idea:

D-Tek Fuzion V2 = 2.15 GPM
Apogee GTZ = 1.86 GPM
EK Supreme = 1.52 GPM

Hope that holds you over. If I can't sort out this thermal testing faster, I'll go ahead and switch to some pressure drop testing for a while. I know I can do that quickly.

It's just new tubing arriving this week, new compression fittings too.....and my old D-Tek V1 is looking for a new home now...in the wife's computer. Add to that the price of the GTZ was reasonable at $59 and I just had to buy. But the pressure drop doesn't look that drastic after all.

I do appreciate the info! Hope my DDC2 is up to the task!

seriously - i just got into WC and brought v1 of fuzion just before v2 was released - is it really worth it for me to get a fuzionV2?
