If you look at the charts the 9600gt seems to use 20w less, in 3 years it would make up for the less ppd ( in 2 years almost iirc ). Something we shouldn't forget here, it has no use to have someone buy a very fast card if they won't be able to pay the running costs?

Edit: and I can show you I can get 4200 out of the GT, if things run like I want them to ( and I get the right wu's ). But not many people seem to be able to run at 1900 shaders

SMP has flags, -smp -deino -forceasem etc. GPU only needs -gpu 0 -gpu 1 etc if you have multiple gpu's. No flags otherwise for gpu folding.

Well in a few weeks I'm going to trade it in for a 9800gx2.

You would probably have to run Vista to have 3 GPU's on one core. But I guess if it is just a dedicated folder and nothing else you could get away with it in XP.

Get a e2180, 2x cost 2x cores.

Seems to work good enough for me, with my main compy.

I agree with Loony. I am not sure that a single core could feed three 8800GS on XP and it may even be a stretch on Vista unless OCed.
