These are good numbers for the hot summertime. Fall is approaching and we will re-muster our forces with the determination that is XSDC.

OK, I'm curious. If you park in an open lot in the direct sun and have a dark interior, what does the temp inside get up to? Around here on a 90F day, the black interior for my car gets up to about 140F. I have to wear gloves to touch the stick shift which Honda, in their wisdom, decided to make out of metal.

So what do you do? Does Nevada require special cooling systems like Cali has for emissions? I'm only half kidding. Or does everybody get blacked out windows - and does that really do any good?

Most people have tinted windows. I got mine tinted so they met legal limits ( unlike the last Honda I had ).

I now wish I'd gotten a darker film... much darker! Yeah, it helps. But never enough. The sun is brutal!

My car is black, with black leather...

    Never again!

yes, it does help, even here in PA. i'm tinted as per the laws of 35% but can't be on the front driver or passenger windows. i drive a pontiac vibe which has a black cloth interior and its a hatchback so i have all that extra space of the trunk adding heat to the rest of the car. imo, with the tint, the heat in the car seems to be less humid and gross but more of a dry heat.

Hey! You stole my car! Give it back!!!

    *runs to look in garage*

    Uhhh, ok, never mind.

so you've got a 2008 Civic too? Mine's the Si, but the bodies are identical. Only obvious difference is the spoiler.

How long did it take to get used to it? The transmission is so slippery smooth it took me a while to get a feel for it. I still have mixed feeling about the narrow gear spacing though.

edit - also got black with black interior.
