Can someone do me a favor either look at what direction the notch is going on the bios chips on there board or post a high uality up close pic of the board where I can see plainly what direction the nothc is going thank you very much ahead of time.

Ok here is my verdict they sent me two chips that will not boot up everything spins but nothing else no screen nothing. It also acts like an overclock failure at first then just reboots and sits there with everything spinning. I stuck the one chip I have left back in it and boom it fires right up??

Can you perhaps stick your good chip in the primary socket, and a new one in the secondary socket. Then flash the secondary chip. Then swap and place the newly flashed chip in the primary socket, and put the second new chip in, and flash it? That must be pretty annoying.

No there isn't a way to flash the secondary slot they said hen I talked to them Monday. I'm half tempted to send my whole unit to them and tell them to try to figure it out but, my friend said to tell them to send me a new one and then I will send them this one. I just don't get it..

After reading CryptiK post i am really curious about voltages... Are they really fix them and now BIOS value and real value are equal ? If this is right i understand now why my rig is not stable with 1201 at same settings... Can someone to measure the voltages ?

I talked to Asus regarding my issue and the tech said maybe it has to be certain chips but he was under the impression that as long as it was a 8 pin dip chip it would be ok so this might be his fault awaiting call back from him he is checking into it with level three. I mentioned to him that the bios'es keep disapearing and he said ever since they moved a server that it has been acting funny with their phones and everything there so them disapearing is a server issue guys. The 1201 is official.

Double Boot
I don't think this is a problem, the ASUS P5Q-Deluxe, P5K-E WIFI/AP and the P5B-Deluxe all did this double boot thing but only when the machine is powered on for the first time from a cold start (i.e you just plugged the PSU into the mains or toggled the rocker switch from 0 to 1). It never does the double boot thing when soft powered up (i.e you hit the power button on the front of the case).
Double Post
Secondly this thread is completely out of hand and there is no way to control it now, I spent five hours reading it from post #1 all the way through and the quality of information is very low, lots of good posts spread amoungst the thousands of bad posts, waaaaay to much stuff about maximising memory bandwidth in that everest benchmark, it really is not that interesting to someone like me (pl8, pull ins, blah blah) so please don't grumble if I make a single double post instead of using the multiquote feature, I had to read all your cr*p so don't get your knickers in a twist if I made a one post too many!
Now lets all chill out and get back to it, maybe a group hug is in order? everyone seems a bit tense or what!![]()

Okay...update on my problem...
Last night, the crackling came back in-game from the sound (using digital out) until I restarted, though even after restart I still had a little bit of crackle (not nearly as much, though, where things would turn to static practically).
Popping/clicking in Teamspeak is still going on. It's an intermittent thing rather than happening every second or something like that.
I ran checks on the memory et al. and that all seems to check out OK.
I have until tomorrow to exchange it for a new one, but I'm kind of reluctant to tear everything apart if it isn't going to help with this problem. Any more ideas, guys?
How are you connecting (digital out?, RCA or Toshlink?)and what are you connecting to?
I am using 4:1 speakers and on occassion a headset and have no crackle but I am using analogue?

Does anyone know what to do if one of my cores constantly crashes almost imediately(<3min) in Prime95?
I have a Q9450@3.8GHz, other 3cores run fine but only the #3 thread fails.
Bios is 0803,already pretty much maxed out with voltages. GTLs are on Auto.Should i mess with them to see the #2 core stable?
Which is the value to begin?0.61 is ok? Max should be 0.67-0.68 if this is like my DFI.

Just put together new P5Q-D with new Q9650 that won't post with Corsair Dominators:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Tpk=20-145-197
Tried flashing to 1201, no difference.
This setup works with other RAM I have, just not the Dominators, fans spin, no video, nothing.
I had a previous P5Q-D that worked with the same RAM, and I can move this RAM to another mobo, it works fine.
I also tried setting the RAM voltage to 2.0 or higher manually, then putting the Dominators in, still no go.
Any ideas?
Could it be the Q9650? I don't have another CPU to test right now.
Did you setup the speeds as well?
I dont think it would be the processor considering it booted with other ram..
I have had the same problem only from an X-fi and not the onboard. I figured it had to do with the 525fsb I was running at the time, although PCi freq was at 100. What speed are you running? Mine could also be caused by the SB being in the slot above my 4870, only slot I can put it in. This board was not layed out very well at all if you use a PCI device![]()

Running at 400FSB.
I had a P5Q-E before the Deluxe, but switched to the Deluxe due to some stability issues with the E and 4x1GB low latency memory. The Deluxe fixed the stability problem in spades, but this sound problem seems to have arrived with the entry of the Deluxe into my system. I don't recall the E doing this, despite having the same sound chipset
Mostly what I'm trying to figure out at the moment is if this is just driver/software or if it's a hardware failure since driver/software I have plenty of time to try to fix and hardware I don't since I have to return it probably today or tomorrow to be able to exchange X_X. As I learned from the -E, though, there is some sample variability and I'm a bit worried about exchanging it and ending up with a less stable board, overall.

They are sending me more chips.. The ones they sent me were not right.

I have that same RAM with no issues. I even reinstalled vistax64 last night. I had a separate issue with 1201 and ended up using 803 bios and I still have everything set on auto (not set anything overclocked yet). I have mine in the yellow slots.
You say fans come on but no video, if the fans startup and then stop after a few secs it can be a short between motherboard and case - I had that with the backplate cooler that came with the thermalright 14 - had to junk it.
Good luck
