The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Receives Single Digit RT Rating

    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mumm...ragon_emperor/

It receives an average critic approval rating of 9% !! By comparison, even the 1997 Batman and Robin (considered by some to be the worst movie of all time) got a 12% . The Dark Knight received a 94% Rating

Thought you guys might want to know

That's whacked. I like the mummy movies...not anything really special, definately not Dark Knight, but not completely bad. I wonder what happened with this one!?!

Impressive. Apparently they managed to create an even more banal movie than the prequels.
You were not supposed to see this.

9 is too low i watched that movie yes it isn't as great as first two because of the actors who replaced mother and son mummy hunters but it surely isn't as bad as 9

Lol, I remember seeing an interview with Brendan Frasier and he said he thought this movie would give Dark Knight a run for it's money.

I liked the movie. A move does not need to redefine a genre or anything to be entertaining, and this movie certainly was entertaining.

I can't quite recall how good the past Mummies were, but when I saw this movie it attempted to be more of a comedy while failing miserably. Truthfully,I felt the 9% is well deserved.

Average of 5.6 thus far on IMDB. I don't expect it to be the marvelous film of 21st century but I expect it will be entertaining. Seeing it this weekend. I liked the previous 2.... tongue in cheek style Indianna Jones type movie.

Well, it finished a close second behind Batman in terms of box-office collection. Considering that it runs in a few hundred theatres less than Batman and that Batman has had an IMAX release, I would argue that Mummy has beaten Batman in terms of the number of people who saw it over the weekend.

I love to watch special effects laden action flicks on the big screen and can’t wait to watch this one. I’m going to wait for it to get to the neighborhood theater though, here movie tickets are $3 and we have a restaurant next door to it that has 4-shot margaritas for $10.

I really liked the first one, the second one was worse, and it looks like I will never see the third after these reviews...

That's a bit worse than I expected but not far off. Originality costs too much to make it worth the risks these days, and when people eat up this drivel can you blame them? Well... wonder how mummy 4 and 5 will be

i like metacritic way better than rotten tomatoes. just organized better.
the new york times and washington post hated it, and the LA times just disliked it.
and the chicago sun times actually liked it, which is pretty puzzling.
those papers have the 4 critics i trust the most.

Nop, not 9%. The movie definitely deserves a 10%!

Saw it last week and yes, the movie sucks. I usually like this kind of crappy-but-entertaining action movies a lot (really, I do!) but this Mummy goes way over the line in terms of crappyness.
The movie has so many poor scenes that you'll actually feel insulted when you think the director thought you'd be entertained by them.

I think that trusting a reviewers opinion on something as cheap as a movie is pretty anal. I mean really, spend the $3 or however much it is(even if it costs you $5 which is nothing), watch the movie, then comment.

I enjoyed the two previous Mummy movies because they did what they were made to do, be cheesy and predictable. I'll go see this one, laugh at the corny scenes and have a good time, ivemanaged thorugh every other movie like that, this will be no diff.

Fair enough, but for a poor student it's not so easy.

I can spend $5 for a movie, or $5 to eat for the day. In the end, downloading a movie and eating is the best overall combo for me.

If you got the money to spare though, nothing like a giant screen and a floor that you don't have to clean when you're done.

Expectations and the bar set by recent titles have a lot to do with this. Who isn't biased?

Besides, what I have realized is IMDB constantly has the same set of individuals rating movies, and their ratings are becoming a little stagnant.

Im in the same boat, and so i :

    do that.

The worst of it is a have a 384k connection (38kb/s download speed) and a 3GB cap (yes, i have a cap ok. ) so the downloading is a bit of a killer for me.
