What PLL and FSB Term do you use ?
I tryed that before, i lowered the vcore in small stepts...only with those vcore's the sistem is stable ...anyway...the CPU seems to be not so good i wanna change with batch Q813A190...you don't answer me...it's this batch better ?

    I have PLL and FSB Term on auto...i don't know so good that those settings do...now i run x8 / 500 / Vcore 1.47 / DDR 1000mhz 5-5-5-15 2.1 / , what PLL and FSB termination i need for those settings ?

On Xs there's noone recorded here with that batch... these are the only 813's listed

    Q813A199 4Ghz 1.32 Vcore
    Q813A499 4Ghz 1.28 Vcore
    Q813A518 4.3Ghz 1.33 Vcore

Try PLL at 1.5 and FSB Term at 1.2... if not stable try PLL 1.6 and FSB Term 1.2, if not stable 1.6 and 1.3
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    Question E8400 won't go 4.0 GHz

Recently buyed EVGA nForce 750i FTW motherboard and E8400 (SLAPL MALAY Q815A451 - I think it's his batch). After installing and setting up I manged at 1.38125V in BIOS and 1.344V at load to get to 3.825 GHz (9x425 Mhz), memory linked at 5-5-5-15 at 2.1V (I've got OCZ XTC SLI Ready Memory 1066 MHz which runs at 5-5-5-15 at 2.1V on 1066 MHz). At 1.4V my load was only 1.36V, so decided to do pencil mod. At 1.4125V, my load was 1.400V. As I understand it's not good for 45 nm processors to go over 1.4V under load for 24/7 overclock, but still Prime95 failed after 40 mintues even with raising CPU FSB to 1.35V, and SPP voltage to 1.45V. My max temperatures were 60 C, but usually around 55-60 C. Why can't I get 4.0 GHz. Do I just have little less overclockable E8400?

    Plese help, tried everything

Maybe mediocre e8400 but there are other things you didn't mention like locking the pci-e to 100, disabling eist and array spectrums, etc.

Disabled everthing in BIOS, all slow down functions, CPU spread spectrum, PCI-E locked at 100 MHz... Also disabled Virtualization Technology and Execute Disable Bit although not so on the picture... My BIOS settings:

My E8500 system has started blue screening. It is OCCT and small fft stable. It is as likely to crash at idle as under load. My Asus P5k deluxe has been working away for about a year now. I am thinking it is either that or a memory problem. The dominator chips are new and have not shown any errors. I did bump vdimm to 2.15 just for grins.
Love to hear any ideas before I start making expensive decisions. Sig is current.
    Thanks

edit: Ran memtest - no errors

So what's the consensus on applying a little bit a voltage to these suckers? It took a BIOS setting of 1.5175v on my Rampage Forumla to get this stable at 4.0Ghz. CPU-z says 1.48v. Do we have confirmation of early death due to these higher voltages? I think I'll leave it here and see if I can donate my chip to the name of science. I have a feeling it won't be a problem for the six months to a year that I keep a chip.

Thats a pretty high voltage mate to be running 24/7! Not sure if many have died from running high volts but I would'nt be comfortable running mine that high... What kind of temps do you get?

Why dont you just ebay that one off and get another one? Theres some pretty good clockers around at the minute

Prolly a bad IHS mate , concave or convex like mine... that's 65°C idle that is bad... which cooler are you using ? and your mobo's power circuitry is horrible, this is 1.36Vcore in bios and it gives ya 1.23 idle ?

I though about doing this earlier. I've never sold anything on eBay and was afraid that I wouldn't get a good price because of it. I would also feel obligated to tell the buyer exactly what I've done with it (1.5volts) and that would decrease what I could get for it. I thought about RMAing it to intel, but my conscience told me otherwise.

All in all, it just didn't seem worth the hassle. 4.5Ghz sounds frickin' nice though

I got one about 2 weeks ago and so far I can run at 4GHz stable at 1.20V with it. But I had problems with my raid -0- lost everything so I had to start over again.. I know I can get more because I was at 4.2GHz 1.25V, but memory problems kept me back. So I bought some G Skill memory and it was starting to look good again then I lost my raid then...Here a shot of my CPU from NEWEGG.

I thought about RMAing it to intel, but my conscience told me otherwise.

All in all, it just didn't seem worth the hassle. 4.5Ghz sounds frickin' nice though
Temps dont sound bad at all mate but you are still running an extremely high vcore. Have you tried tuning your other voltages so you can get your vcore down? 1.5 volts is incredibly high for 4ghz.

Yesterday I've received my new E8500 Q807A253. I've played with this CPU only for two hours, but it looks this batch is good. I've tested for max. OC with min. Vcore and I've managed to get 4512 (9.5x475) with 1.36v under Vapochill XEII one hour Prime stable.

Compared to my old Q6600 in Crysis benchmark there is raising with 2-3 FPS.
But this is just the beginning of my test When I have more results I'll post some pics about max. OC and bench results.
