Hey charles, thanks a lot for your quick reply!! I really love the "Fanta murderbox", and my next build will have the same color-scheme...

Do you have any problems with the Feser One UV coolant? Like settling on the inside of the hoses or whatever? Or maybe even killing the pump?

And how many UV-lights are in there? I saw one UV-cathode on the top? Is that the only light??

Thanks a lot again, and your work is so super-clean, I really love it!!

We'll see but I suspect it'll be a tad on the pricey side.

The concept was intended as a "one-off" but maybe it'll be easier that we think - although I highly doubt it. I imagine it'll take a few attempts to get the bends right - and the grill cutouts will have to be cut before bending. Perhaps after the 1st one is done it'll get easier.

Guys, I'm really moved by your comments. I made wallpapers of the two renders for anyone who wants them as a token of thanks.

Charles...you deserve every compliment you get when it comes to your designs and build quality. If I had the money to buy just the case from you(id rather have a full build but thats besides the point) I would do it in a heartbeat, as I'm sure a lot of other people on the various forums would. If a new job comes my way in the near future you can expect to hear from me

And Im moved by your work. It is by far the MOST super-clean work Ive ever seen. Its tasteful and beautiful. Heck just reread the thread theres nothing more to be said of the work you do

And this is coming from someone who likes a clean box with no wires showing at all. When I make a build I like people to scratch their heads saying, "Is that a functional rig? Where are all of the wires!??!?!?!?".

But I have to say flaunting the wires the way that you do with the loop-de-do on the sata cables, the highlighting of 1 sata only with irange and having them sleeved is brilliant. The individual sleeving of the PCIe wires originally I didnt know what I thought about it, but after starting at those pics like a :banana::banana::banana:o movie I really like it

    Professional. Artistic. Awe-inspiring. Jaw-dropping.

I think its all been said but I still cant stop posting about it

^ i never really liked the mountain mods cases. I mean they are nice but their build quality is far below that of a silverstone or lian-li imo.

Charles, your workmanship is truly impressive -- not to say incredible.

The simplicity of your work along with the attention to the finest details makes for an incredibly stylish design.

My next build, inside a Lian Li V600, will certainly be inspired by what you have shown in this thread.

    Cheers

I'm really excited about pure|murderbox. In a nutshell, we'll start with a TJ07 and then add a 1/8" aluminum insert down the center that will finish flush with the sides of the case. The insert's grill will be cut on water jet and then bent to match the curves on the top and bottom of the case. The insert will be finished to match the TJ07 outer case. Behind the grill will be a sheet of copper that will be polished and clear coated. The concept is for simple, clean lines with emphasis on fit and finish. The copper should provide the contrast and give the case it's character. The whole process - warts and all, will be documented in the worklog.

The inside concept will be revealed in the worklog.

I use 1/2" heat shrink @ 3:1 and with the glue inside. You may have to trim off the outer edges of the plugs with a blade in order to get the sleeving over.

Feel free to email me and we can discuss this further.

The Fanta murderbox uses Feser One Orange UV coolant. The hose is Tygon 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD and the ATX, 6/8-pin power and SATA cables all have 1/4" Techflex sleeving.

There will be no internal optical drive Sir. External USB FTW!

I met with the Metal Master who will do the manual bending of the center insert after it's been cut on a water jet. His shop is straight out of a movie. I didn't see a machine in there that looked less than 50 years old! As soon as I set foot inside, I knew it was a place where magic happens. Its in a very old brick building and there's barely any lighting inside. The place is rich with character - a sharp contrast to the brightly lit, almost sterile, warehouse size places I deal with for the majority of fabrication. The shop is 3 narrow levels and the lowest had a ceiling that was less than 6 feet high. There was no one down there but the whole time I was there, I expected to see an old bearded Dwarf suddenly appear down there and start hammering on a piece of metal. The place has a great vibe and I'm really looking forward to getting this project underway. I'll definitely take some shots in there for the worklog.

I've had no problems with the Feser One UV coolant at all. I recently drained a loop that was running for about 9 months and there was no buildup of any kind, anywhere. That system had the UV green. The fanta murderbox only has the one cold cathode you saw. Truth is, the UV Orange is not very UV unfortunately and more lighting doesn't help at all. It's just not very UV reactive.

Thank you Dawgdoc. It's such a great feeling to have people dig that which I love doing. Running a small business is wrought with challenge but when I come in here and read such positive, supportive feedback, it makes me smile and not think about the 87 things I have to do tomorrow - at least not for a few minutes. Cheers Mate.

I went with some red/UV-red tubing (which looks orange under UV) now, but thanks for your help man!! It's not only your builds are looking damn fine, I really like the way you answer EVERY question!!! Big big for that!!

Another question: you sleeved all the wires from ATX/PCIe etc. with 1/4" Techflex?? which of their products did you use? I think it's the "Flexo PET"??

Thanks for your help again man!!

@GrossmeisterB: CleanCut has the best structure (tightest weave) of all Techflex products. That's why it's most expensive. But there is something else out there *secret music*

Hey Charles: Can I tell GrossmeisterB about the secret sleeve that we use for our murder-builts in Germany ...

Yeah, that CleanCut is really expensive!! I ordered the "Flexo PET" today, so you better tell me quick, which one you use, so I can cancel that order...

Why don't you send me a PM???

Definitely basing my next build off of the murderbox. Will the murdermod be a complete cases, or individual mods that one can purchase for use in their builds, or will it be possible to do either? I ordered my TJ07 3 days before this thread appeared. I am beginning to think I should have waited.

I don't think it's a problem if you already have the TJ07. murderMod is geared towards this kind of thing.

Damn. These cases are so beautiful that I am now considering fitting my next rig inside a TJ07 instead of a V600/V1000. If, as Exso states, Murdermod will be "individual mods that one can purchase for use in their builds", I will certainly make the switch... probably.
