Had to ask - thanks for getting back on it! You may be right, AMD could have been playing with chips by that point. Yours is certainly unique ...!

Picked up a 165 0551UPMW the other day for a good price.
Was running at 2.9 on a Xp120 before so could be a diamond in the rough.
On a related note is CH-5 ram any good in a SLi-DR or should i bank on some TCCD?
Nice clock for an old chip like that. Few '05s could crank it that high on air but that "U" code is different - maybe that's the trick! The 0550 U's had some beauties (and some real losers)!
BH-5 is good - don't know about CH-5 ...

Isn't ch5 the Infinion staff that was used on the Mushkin redlines (not the 3.2v
ones)
Still have the dfi nf4 expert and the timings/settings are completly different
for TCCD and BH5/CH5. You could probably get a BIOS that's optimised
for one or the other.

I'm so glad to see some people still care. I run an Opteron 185@2880mhz on a DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert. Unfortunately my enormous air cooler is covering mem slot 4 so I have to use the dreaded yellows. I can no longer run my Mushkin DDR500 at their rated speed on a 250mhz HT. I used to run at 3001mhz (250x12@1.425vcore) 24/7 stable before my peltier burnt. Jeez I don't even know my stepping anymore either so I can't compare.
Its just good to see guys still running the old Opterons. Keep it up guys.
Nice clocks ...!![]()

my CFX 3200 DR/G is demaged :-(
so i must finishes to clock 939 dualcore cpu's and now i clock AM2 dualcores
Still dedicated to the 939 cause here I gotta say, its one of the most fun bang for buck overclocking platforms out there still due to the prices you can get 2nd hand gear at.

I'm looking at a few Opteron 170's right now and was wondering how good the CCBBE 0615DPMW stepping would be? It's not in that first post...atleast I can't see it.
Also, were the Opteron 180's CCB1E 0609FPAW stepping reaching 3.0ghz easily? Or is that just 160/170?
Thanks!

0609's are often quite good, too. 0608 as well. However, I think 0608's are only Opty 165 (MAYBE 170, but not sure). A 0609 chip could be either a 165 or a 170, or 180. 0613 are ONLY 175 and 185, 0610 165 and 170 (MAYBE 175, but not sure about that either). 0617 = 165/170/175.
0704XPMW's are also great, 0722RP(A/B)W as well. I have a feeling that some of the LCB9E/LCBQE steppings could be great without me knowing about it, btw.
i miss overclocking my opteron 165 CCBBE 0610DPMWi sold it for $50, half a bag of cheeto's and a mountain dew about a month ago
did 2.9ghz easily however i could never get the HTT above 330mhz. (was using an SLI-DR)
still have an X2 3800, FX60 and an Asus A8N32 SLI-Deluxe. im gonna have to dig all of that up sometime.

Hi All
Anyone got any clues how I get the 120MHz and 133Mhz dividers running with an opty 165 on a dfi Expert.
They are no go on 3 165s in 3 Experts which means the mem is running on a 100Mhz divider resulting in
166Mhz for the memory with HTT at 333MHz.
Any help greatly appreciated.Have fiddled with MAL and RPT but no joy.

Hi
Have tried some single sided Crucial 3200 sticks and seems better on 120Mhz divider.
Smiffy
Also better on 133 so maybe fussy with the Twinmos or double sided sticks.
