oh man.... what a nightmare couple of weeks
Vista64 + S2E + 1st major watercooled build = about 10 years off my life expectancy
1st the S2E was a realto get going... took me ages to figure out the reason it would only boot with the install dvd in the drive. Turns out it had written the MBR to my storage drive... a tip for anyone installing vista, only have one HDD or array connected when installing.
2nd after finally getting the system running, I woke up one morning and the pc would short when I tried to power up... not a good sign, I finally discovered that a micro leak from my flowmeter had ran down some tubes and onto my 8800s... 2 of them are DOA.
The only place I can find replacement 8800 ultras is a rip off merchant from ebay charging 800$ each for them (since they are discontinued) ive been looking at EKs new 280 blocks and considering upgrading to 3 x EVGA 280s (@ $800 each) but my psu doesnt have 3 x 6+8 PCIe connectors (it has 2 x 6+8 and 1 x 6+6)
