I'm in the same boat kinda. My new E8400 is stable (8 hours orthos blend anyways) at 3.8 Ghz and 1.22-1.24V but I bump up to 4.05 GHz (450x9) and I cant get it stable even using pretty much 1.4V. Guess I got a dud.

Ohh well Im not complaining. I just came off of a E4300
