Seems with me if I leave LLC at auto that it is enabled, I need to force via disable to have the droop/drop... can anyone verify this plz...

For the ram/speed initial quick tests seem to reveal no performance jumps with me...

Bios seems to recover better here (not always resetting to default)...

I had no problems with setting this board up with components in sig, flashed straight to 704 official bios. LLC @ Auto set it to enabled. Had to manually turn it off.

Quick first test: running PL8 at 400fsb 1:1 at stock VID. Doesnt look too bad so far:

Will test more over the weekend

For anyone concerned with DPC latency on this board, this is what mine looks like in XP 32.

NOTE: I had to disable Network port 2 in the bios (its the network card that uses the PCI bus, rather than the PCI-Express bus) as this was causing some DPC latency spikes.

Because it was actually making my voltage go up under load. Set it to 1.15, it was idling at 1.128 and going up to 1.136 when under load.

Besides, I think mobos are supposed to have some vdrop/droop so I prefer LLC off.

I understand the safety reasoning behind allowing vdroop, but i prefer to have LLC enabled.

If not, then i have higher temps & voltage idling, which is a waste of everything, & lower voltage under load, when it's actually needed.

Right now i run 1.4v set in bios, which reads as 1.39v idle, 1.4v load (LLC enabled of course)

On my previous DFI it was actually around 1.375v idle to 1.4v load, but again, i prefer a lower idle voltage + higher voltage under load rather than higher idle & lower load.

    Each to their own though...

put one dimm on the right hand black slot... does it post ? if yes add another dimm in the right hand yellow slot... I tried all combo's here with the 4gb kits, because your case intrigues me... with one, two or 4 dimms the mobo posts no matter if I fill up the slots first from the right or from the left or mix them up to stay dual channel... I have high suspicion maybe one of the dimms is flakey... I would test them one by one... also do you force any settings in the bios for the ram ? It certainly is not your board as your replacement one acts in the same manner... could be an incompatability or a bad dimm or bad setting or a combo of all...
tried unhooking everything. (only video card cpu and ram left, restored defaults) still no go. tried all 6 modules one at a time yellow and black slots. going to try buying a new psu. any other suggestions would be most appreciated.

So the pc doesn't even boot with one dimm in onez of the right dimm slots ? The pc no longer posts with one dimm installed at all ?

I really think a) you got a hardware incompatability here or you got the same dud board back as before... with ram in the 2 left hand slots it works ? did you try upping NB voltage ? setting Dimm voltage at the correct value ?

Can you plz fill in this template and send it to me plz so I can check what is set and what not :

Your PSU doesn't have the 8 pin mobo connector mate, mostly it will run just fine but might be required for some beefy overclocking action... only one way to find out and is to give it a shot

Quick question I installed the P5Q deluxe and everything booted. Now I am trying to 4.0Ghz 400FSB 10 Multi my QX9650 requires alot more voltage than the ones I am seeing here 1.4875. I can get the board to boot however after 25 ,imutes of Prime 95 blend or Small FFT's the computer freezes. I am using PL level 10. Is there something that would usually cause tthe system to freeze. I started getting rounding errors so I bumped up the voltage no more rounding errors just screen freeze. Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

You prolly got unlucky if you really require plus 1.4volts for the Qx mate... try 3.6Ghz first and try to report the lowest possible Vcore that it remains stable... I hope you can do it around 1.2volts... but looking at ya current numbers doubt it
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Leeghoofd, is there any overvolting or undervolting with this board?
my rampage did this (but the bios showed the volts of pll and fsb which the p5q D does not)
Bios set vfsb 1.5 --> real 1.4 (entire .1 drop)
Bios set PLL. 1.54--> real 1.58 (.04 Overvolt)

since we dont know what is the output of the p5q D, sould i just use a DMM or assume there is no drop or raise?

    Leeghoofd,
I changed the setting as you showed above. 1.2 volts was instant rounding error in prime 95 small FFT's 1.25 was the same. 1.3 volts semms to be holding I will let small FFT's run for a couple hours and if it holds I will run blend.
    Thanks
What is the VID of your Qx9650 seems like a real good chip.

Is there a website or post in this forum where I could read and learn what all the different setting are for and what effect they have on the system and how to best use them to OC?

Best way is to verify ya own board... thing we all agree on is that Auto voltage corresponds to the lowest voltage setting but this can differ big time from the value set in bios... best is to set eg 1.52 for CPU pll... value is pretty close here, some have a bit overvolting... Vdimm is with my board about 0.08 extra... look at post 951 sums it up pretty nicely...

My Vid is 1.1375... so that's 1.3 set in bios giving you about 1.23 under load ?
