You're fine. You're running in IDE mode, which means that you have individual HD's just like if you had IDE drives in. Your not as fast as RAID would be at all but is as fast as they can go without being a RAID array setup. As long as you keep them defragged well they will be plenty fast enough for normal use. If you want super fast HD's, then you need to look into RAID. I cannot speak for RAID because I do IDE myself. I dont see any reason for them to be super fast for normal everyday use, but thats just my opinion.
