ok, my bad then, I thought HD4870 would be 800Mhz clock, where is the damn donkey ears hat?

@zerazax: well, your arguments, although a bit confusing, make sense to me, seems it's really an HD4870, and seems w1zzard is going to have to work again on GPU-Z to read GDDR5 correctly.

    One more question:

There is no doubt at all that the Vantage test was X, right?
    Are we there yet?

i doubt that the 4850 has 30GT/s ... that would equal 48TMUs... and we allready saw benches showing it at ~20GT/s (which fits perfectly fine with 32TMUs at 625Mhz)

I have a serious doubt it was X. Think its P. Combined with low clocked Phenom and you get strange numbers.

Well, lowest score with a Phenom 9500 and an 8800GT @ ORB is P4203marks...

Why would it? X48 is currently intel's best crossfire chipset, having dual PCIe 2.0 x16 lanes.

no of course, it's fully pci-e 2.0 compatible

furthermore, it will feature shared 1Gb memory and it will result in AFR problems absence

as we found out few days ago 4870 is faster even than GTX 260 in heavy Vantage mode

If the bolded part is true I will try one myself.

In the past with Crossfire, if a game did poorly with AFR, you were stuck using a single card or disabling onboard Crossfire by unticking CAT AI.

We still don't have confirmation of memory being shared. I'm as hopeful as the next person, but I'm not holding my breath on it being true.

We don't know what shape that will take, only that it will combine two GPUs on a card in a substantially different fashion than the Radeon HD 3870 X2, and that ATI tells us that with not-yet-fully optimized drivers it already scores over 6,000 in 3DMark Vantage on Extreme settings.

    what does that mean?

plus there were rumours that there is a single device "4870 X2" in windows task manager unlike 3870 X2, 9800GX2, etc.

try with an 3870, maybe the 3870X2 is problematic..

    21 FPS with crysis D10 VERY HIGH 1920 8xAA ?

    seems it's working to me

a simple Xfire does 23 FPS with only 4xAA

Also, 4 x 900 = 3600 MHz which is the stock mem clock of the 4870 as well.
Thats a huge tearing from GDDR 4.

other stuff has me on the fence, 750 core? there is no known utility to clock one over 700. I am not saying it isn't possible but it looks funny to me. I have a second card to test after work, I am expecting 23k+ in 06. also mem doesn't read right though I know the 4850 reads fine with GPU-Z 0.2.4 as W1zzard developed it with my card. maybe it is a 4870?
