im trying to make watercooling as creative as possible
from different res designs, to stylized waterblocks.
anything to make it more then just watercooling. i like
the idea of a res, because it stands out, its very prominent
and loud (its presence, they usually dont make sounds,
do they?) especially combined with colored liquids,
LEDs, and/or special lighting effects. aside from doing its
job (holds liquid, bleeding, etc) i see it as an opportunity
so heres a design i though up of yesterday, ive seen a
similar design done before, and i liked the idea. so i took
it alittle further design wise.
top and bottom fittings are counter sunk, now i can see
this as a future problem for some but i see it as a good
idea. with it counter sunk, the ends of the tubing are now
hidden, and the tubing appears to just be coming out of
the res, i know some like to use worm drive clamps, and
herbie clips, but ive experienced no leaks with the out
clamping with the bitspower fittings, and even if you really
wanted to clamp the fittings, most fittings are more then
long enough to be able to be clamped or ziptied. the
counter sink is .25" which isnt much but enough to hide
poorly cut ends.
another issue to some maybe how are you going to tighten
the fittings? well what i usually do is use a old piece of
tubing, which is usually like a few inches long and use that
as a clamp to hold the tubing while i turn and tighten it
as much as i can with my hands, which is usually more
then enough, if that isnt enough, the counter sink has a
.75" diameter which is pretty large, big enough for a
socket head.
ill get some detailed shots later, it just takes a while
now if i only had a skullymight cut down render
time in half
enjoy
