    yes for benching.

if i would only bench i would buy tri/quad-sli to get highes score possible, but for gaming its a placebo as long as micro-stuttering is there.

Suppose we won't manage to play Crysis normally using usual 24-inch monitor this year

waiting for radeon 5000 and geforce 300
If the frame rate doesnt drop below 25fps, its perfect..

25fps in Crysis feels like 50 in COD4

it's likely that if average fps is 37 then min fps would be less than 25

The reason for this is because of how awesome the motion blur in Crysis is. We sort of "define" motion as how blurry something was travelling past us

afaik, only one german site made claims of microstuttering and they didnt even show evidence it happened on nvidia cards. it's weird that it's an unspoken truth now lol.

    http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=47683

it happens on all multigpu solutions that use AFR (so everything available on the market)

and sure you dont hear anything about it, nv/ati ist that dump to say they have problems with multigpu solution. Who else beside benchers would buy them?

It's basically unnoticeable even when specifically looking for it, so it doesn't affect me at all as an SLI user myself. I really couldn't care much less about it.

By act one do you mean the first level? If so thats fairly impressive. Won't be enough to stay playable with a single card later in the game though The second half of the game can be two times slower in areas.

    @ ORB

Those comments are less than reassuring. I'd assume you'd expect CF 4870s to do better in most things then right? If Ati's drivers are up to snuff and AA performance is vastly improved, this is a bad sign for the GT200. I'm hoping that info is based on more than purely Crysis.

Agreed. Been using SLI 88 GTS 512s for 6 months now and honestly can't say I noticed until everyone made a big fuss about it. To say multi gpu doesn't help though is ignorant. It isn't a placebo... People blew this micro stuttering business way out of proportion.

Sshhhhh!! Nobody wants to hear that scheibe.

Also, "Assault_Harbor" is the only one benchmark you should use that would most accurately represent gameplay in Crysis. The other ones don't have active AI etc.

imagine if does RV770 are indeed much faster than GT200 then ATI

sure will have the crown in everything because we all know Crossfire scales

    much better than SLI so...

I think now AMD & ATI aliance is starting to give some juice

off course if all this news confirms because makes me nausea to think nvidia

as a 600$ card wich is slower than a cheaper, cooler and faster ATI...

ORB show some bench as some pics please...
Take the doubts off, do we have a beast or just one more card?

    9900GTX = G92b
    GTX 280 = D10U

GTX 280 is on June 17th, 9900 GTX is later on.

So correct me if I'm wrong but the 9900 series card and the 280/260 series card are 2 different and not the same? 9900 series a refresh of 8800 series card that just runs and oc higher? the 280/260 is the new different gen? the 280/260 coming out on 17th of June and 9900 in July? I'm totally confused...

9900GTX is not new gen, but a 55nm shrink of old gen.

wrong, the 9900gtx is a g92b card, meaning it's just a shrunken 9800gtx, same transition as 7800gtx to 7900gtx really

    That's exactly what STaRGaZeR said...
Murray Walker: "And there are flames coming from the back of Prost's McLaren as he enters the Swimming Pool."

James Hunt: "Well, that should put them out then."
