3.8GHz on stock cooling here. Voltage is 1.23v at load and 1.26v at idle (1.30v set in BIOS). Only Prime stable. OCCT needs up to 1.35v set in BIOS for some bizarre reason. (1.26v load and 1.30v idle)
Stock cooling lets things stay at max 65C in OCCT, 62C in Prime, and idling at 39 - 45C according to CoreTemp. With AC7 Pro, it's a good 2C drop in load volts, but that was it. Stock cooling is not too loud...
And no screenshots or anything will be taken at this point, since I'm too lazy... (just got back from Fanime Convention yesterday)

RunawayPrisoner what batch is yours?
Use RealTemp for temps, and check if sensors are stuck.
Here's mine at 1.304V load 3.8Ghz

Sensors are fine. And I tend to trust CoreTemp more than RealTemp now... just to be on the safe side.
And I told you guys the batch number on the first page.

Runawayprisoner-whats the max oc you could achieve with the GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H with the e7200?
I dont really need built in hdmi also but if the boards one of the best (for ocing) and cheap I'll get itand apply the tape mod as well.
3.9GHz at 411 x 9.5. If you think 200Mhz is worth it, then go for something more expensive, I guess? GA-73PVM-S2 is the same board without HDMI, and with a good $20 off of its price tag. You can get both the board and this CPU for less than $200 plus shipping at Newegg.

Ahh ok im tryin right now to see what I want to do. I really cant sell the ram so i may just have to get a 3rd 1 gb stick. Im gonna try for the 2x2gb Adata extreme kit. But I was wondering whether or not I should go with 800 or 1066 ram for overclocking.

if ya wan tot OC grab a 1000 or 1066Mhz kit, it will save ya some headaches... and really adding a 3rd stick will get ya into single channel operation again and you will loose ram bandwith... it's for me either 2 or 4 sticks...
a Kit I have been using for along time :

Not very happy with the results in this tread. I thought this chip would be a better clocker with aircooling.
I will post how mine does as soon as I test it. But if it's not stable at 4200+, definitely I won't keep it.

I was torn between the quad and the e7200 but I decided to be a budget cpu buyer from now on. I bought my E4300 a year+ ago and it has lasted a long time and I payed no more than $130 for it then.
So I will get this proc then upgrade again around december maybe, but if it proves to be anything like my 4300 then I doubt I will have to till this time next summer.

Initial testing, already know that my chip is not a great clocker, lots of vcore to be Orthos stable at 4000.
