Yes I do have a Quad and this is the first P35 to do this. I have another P35 and an X48 and they do NOT Squeal even under Load.

I guess I cannot do anything about it except RMA'g it back. Correct.

Incidentally I was just setting up the MB, 2 sticks RAM, Video Card and Power Supply, nothing extraordinary, and turned the Power on and got the 7F error Code which I looked up in Clunks error message list.

If it's fully in the case, it could also be the PSU.

No it was not in the case, I had it sitting on the tray. The Power Supply is a P&C 750W Silencer and it is pretty new. I had a DFI P965 Dark using the PSU and just swap it out about 2 weeks ago, when I ordered the P35 LT.
I had the X48 hooked up to the same PSU for a few days and there was no problem when the first P35 LT was being RMA'd. The first had no RAM led light showing.

I get the noise too. There was a small thread on dfi club about this a while back so you and I aren't the only ones. From what I can gather it isn't as bad as on the p965 though.

Thanks to those that replied, I do remember the problem well with the P965 Dark, and even though I had one, I never had the problem.

But I think I have found the problem and when I test it today hopefully it will restore my FAITH in DFI.

The problem is a defective Q6600, this was Brand New right out of the Box, it made the LT P35 Squeal, and it made my DFI X48 Squeal. So I take the defective Q6600 out of the X48 and put in a Q6600 that I know is good and Bingo all is well with the X48.
So now I will diassemble the X48 and try the P35 LT with the same good Q6600.

I will reedit this post later today with the results.

Problem was Memory not MotherBoard or Processor. The processor now works fine on what I thought was a problem MB with different Memory.

I had a 965-s dark that did that and I returned it right away. It was louder than a Bubb Rubb Whistle Tip. "The DFI coil goes Whoo Whooooo!" They do it for decorations, that's it and that's all.

Hahaha, my laptop wireless card squeals, sometime it annoys me so much that I turn wireless off and walk around with cat-5 cables.

Yes, this mobo does squeal for me.

    Only under heavy load though.

When running HCI Memtest, it's actually quite loud & annoying.

Fortunately, no noise under idle or i'd go insane.

Well after much swapping out of different components, like another PSU, different Memory, different Q6600 processors, I can conclude that it is not the DFI LT P35 problem. I had 2 problems.
    1. The initial high pitched Squeal was due to RAM problems .
    2. But also the Q6600 is a problem, because I could get it to boot into Windows but I could not stay there for more than 5 minutes, just surfing the net would cause a system reboot and it was constant. The other thing that I tried to do with the processor was load a new copy of either Windows XP or Vista, it could not do that. I had to swap the problem processor out with another to do the re install of Windows. So now with a 'good Q6600' running I am currently Priming it just to make sure that it is not the Board. It has been going 30min so I think all is ok.

Anyway my faith in DFI is restored.

That's why when taking on the task of a system integrator having a good selection of components for substitution is a necessity.

    Hello...
I wondered if you can help. I have this MBO, and it's awesome... Paired with E8500.

Now, I have a question. I have little problems getting it higher than 1.45V for the CPU. Can anyone suggest something? It doesn't depend on what frequency it is, but only doesn't want to give that voltage...
    Please help...

Well the only way to get it working it's to set it trough additional voltage control not through VID

okay well I've been stuck in a move for a bit and finally had a chance to put my computer together its a watercooled Q6600 and it stays stuck at post with 88. Nothing is on the screen but its hooked up to a 32" Sharp Aquos through a DVI input any chance that this could be causing it?

Frankly I am a little disappointed with my LT, was hoping it would clock my q6600 higher, but at 400x9, have to raise VTT to 1.4 to get OCCT stability. Started to fold and then found all work units were erroring before 10% mark. Finally sick of it and moved everything back to ip35-pro, VTT back down to 1.2 and everything is smooth as silk again. If only the ip35-pro has vdroop control, I am just too chicken to solder my board.

Is somebody finally paying you? After all those bills for computer parts I have seen, it would seem you are paying to play. Hehehe.

Just wondering if you have nothing on the screen, have you hooked up the 4 pin connector to the PCIE1 area and also extra power to the video card.

And for good measure, there is another 4 pin connector to the PCIE area it is near PCIE3.

Yeah. Everyone thinks they are the only ones that have to pay for things. If they had any idea the money you and I spend they would realize their comments would be better placed elsewhere. Regardless, any successful hobby requires spending the money for the necessary items required. In the case of computer building if that is not an option or a reality maybe a pre-built would be a better choice.
