Hmm, it obviously didn't like K10 on AM2 board, reads normal temps for half a sec, then it reads a 9 digit number..

Yes it was a bug, I fixed it.
New version will be out soon
Its due the addition of G15 support and it's Low\High report.
So Core Temp output an address to a variable instead of the variable value (temperature) itself

It's a bug with 0.98 and 0.98.1 and Phenom. Will be fixed in the next release.

For some reason with Asus P5E3 Premium + E8500 one core sits at 40ºC idle or load doesnt matter, do you have any idea why this can be?

Although this is an AMD section it may be a case of sticky sensors.
What does your other core run at?

How come for example S&M gives way more accurate temperature readings for me? What I hate the most with CoreTemp is that the temperatures can vary +/-1 in one second. Once it is 60/60, then it is 57/62, then it is 63/59 and so on. How am I supposed to know the temperature? The Coolest, can you honestly call that accurate? What about reading the temp for example 3 times a second, then take average of them and sum it up by the last seconds average and divide by 2? As far as I know, S&M uses similar method, which is far superior to what CoreTemp can offfer.

Just thought I would post that Core Temp is not diplaying the processor name of my Opteron 1210HE. It just says unknown Model F3 stepping or something like that.

The temperature inside the core can and does change very rapidly, so yes, it is possible that one second its a bit lower and the next a bit higher.
It is also possible that it's just the sensors margin of error.

Not really related to CT, but for example CT shows that my CPU temp gets from 80'ish to 50'ish in 2 seconds, which can not happen really. Where does the heat go? At least not to HSF as it is near 70'ish still after 2 seconds. Neither does the CPU PCB cool the core.

Actually, core temperature is quite much the same as the HSF base temperature, except the "loss" which happens due to bad heat conductivity between core and HSF base. But as I said, this doesn't really have anything to do with CT.

CT might be accurate when reading the sensors, but doesn't really help when the sensors are so damn inaccurate.
