Are you sure you're not the one who is misinformed?

There is nothing confirmed yet, be patient. Real info should be out soon.

Didnt benchzowner say this would happen?

    9900gtx/9900gts = g92b out June
    GT200 = October/November

    This makes more sense imo...

Cant see the 9800gx2 being knocked of the top by a single core card in 4 months...

I've "heard" it is GT200 that will go into these products, not the G92b. So, I don't believe I am misinformed . Of course, as always, there's no way to back anything up, so the rest have to wait to know for sure, I suppose.

AMD/ATi should be shrinking RV770 and friends to 45/40nm in November-ish.

That's what I've been told at first.
But some days ago, the same person told me that they'll more than likely launch the GT200 card in mid/late June.

Launching both G92b and GT200 in June/July doesn't make really sense, but not everything has got to make any sense

They're making a big fuzz about the Editors Day in May, so they better have the goodies around

Perhaps both can launch at the same time... GT200 and G92b that is...

GTX/GTS = GT200. Acts as the high end.

GT/GX2/???/??? = G92b. Acts as the mid end and features a cooler running GX2.

Purely speculation, seems somewhat reasonable though.

I made the decision to sticky this and take the GT-200 thread down for a number of reasons. This is the upcoming Nvidia chip for now, even if it is only a refresh, we will most likely see a clock jump to battle the 4870s from ATI, and there will be more concrete information soon than the GT-200, for which the discussion was "ooh"s and "aah"s mostly.

This fits with what I've been hearing...

GT-200 is launching this summer, I stated that in the other thread, right before BZ confirmed what I had heard.

based on current trends, i think the amd and nvidia cards will probably be priced so they dont compete with each other. the better performing card will end up costing more.

    Who ever woulda thunk it?

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

Well the 2900 series certainly performed absolutely terribly considering they often cost more than 8800 series cards.

    How so?
Pricing and performance matched up perfectly except for the 8800GTS 320mb.

I dont understand.... if the GeForce 9xxx series is remaining on GDDR3 memory than how are these cards supposed to be any better than or even compete with ATI RV7xx series or 4000 line of cards ???

Almost all of the new ATI cards will have at the least GDDR4 while the more top enthusiast cards are getting GDDR5....

I mean am I not the only one who is confused here....

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I recall the 2900XT costing more than the GTS and GTX, at least for a fairly long period of time.

I realize R600 performed well in 3dMark... But I hardly think that counts as it's... Not exactly a game, well, not quite

You are the only confused one.

Slower RAM + wider bus = more bandwidth than faster RAM with thinner bus and bad timings .

IIRC, didn't we have these same kind of contradictory rumours before the 8800GT release? There was speculation all over the place that it was going to be some kind of 8800 Ultra killer, and then there was other speculation that it was just a process shrink midrange card. Was it theinquirer that had some info that seemed to be from a specific source that a high end replacement was going to be released first? So this all seems very familiar. I won't be holding my breath.
