The final SP3 release is version 5.1 build number 5512 (5.1.2600.5512) confirmed by Chris Keroack and the general public will be able to officially download it starting from April 29. The installer package from Microsoft is ~580MB.

MSDN and TechNet will only get access along with general public, not before them which caused a lot of complaints and uproar yesterday.

That's the much older one AFAIK, build 3180 RC1.

    All understood.

    Install & reboot success.

Current build in registry now reporting: 1.511.1 () (Obsolete data - do not use)

However lots of components installed are now .5512......

Sysem properties reports Service Pack 3 minus the build number...

Inconclusive, but no obvious harm done testing

Edit: Several places in registry now reporting version 6,0,2900,5512

    Yup.

I'd say it is the real deal!

I'm still testing obviously and running deep scans but so far it has been solid....

If this changes I will report back here

    Right!

    Now for some slipstreaming....
