1st i tough was the bios, since it was the last thing I did, EZ-clear CMOS, jumper clear, and then hot-flashed, no way C1 all the time, Voltage was: for CPU-VID=+105.14 and for NB=+103.7, I could not figured out what happened.
Sheas, I see one parallel to my C1-9500. He also stopped working at relative low volts in comparison to what i had applied before.

You plan to RMA that CPU or do you think it was your fault only? I mean both board and the chip are build for overclocking and you ran your cpu in specs at modest higher voltages.

Now ....Who's gonna be a Gentleman and give me the Edited Notepad File with the Updated Bios Template?
How do you make those templates? like the ones in your early posts which were scrollable, LOL "scrollable" wonder if that's even a proper word.

Could the CPU fail badly enough that the POST might not make it past the C1 error and into one of the CPU POST messages?

NOTE: I never verified if my DFI was bad or not. I RMA'ed it. But the Phenom is definitely bad in a different motherboard with two different sets of memory. (The 1066 memory has tested fine for a day including 2 passes of memtest. At 800 speeds at this time. No overclocking until everything has worked for a few days at stock.)

Use the CODE tag like the QUOTE tag for scrollable stuff.

Oh damn, Im such a retard. I prime all time with small FFT's and got like'em0 as it still crashed... But the description for small FFT's is clearly 'fits within L2 cache'... To make it more clear, I Prime large FFT's with small FFT's stable settings and it crashed hard within minutes...

KTE, or anyone else having problems with Prime not being stable, what Prime option did you actually use to test?

And Brother, you've no issues at all hm? How do you determine whether your Phenom is stable or not? What tests?

Im so stupid, no matter if I just found the 'solution' or not, for testing small FFT's which doesnt stress anything else than CPU cores...

perhaps it could be somewhat useful compare small fft with large fft results..

perhaps small fft-stable can be made large fft-stable when lowering nb or htt or such?

I dont know, if this would be any help to you guys that are stress testing or not...but I would try using S&M stress test...It has been the one and only program that has gotten my cores heated up as much as it does .. about 7C over orthos on air cooling(when doing FPU test). It also tests multiple parts of your processor and tests RAM also and HDD(all optional via selection). It also will do any number of CPU cores...does quad cores in single instance of itself. only stress program Ive found that does that.

Its easily available through hirens boot CD in windows using the wintools on his CD. Also...can be downloaded but I couldnt get the downloaded newest version to work right....for some reason..probably was just me =)

Most likely. I dropped HTT to 200 from 207. This dropped CPU speed to 2.8Ghz again, but let the NB and HT run on default speeds too. Where as it froze within 10 minutes with Large FFT's it's already running for over an hour now.

Hey Guys need some input please ....Should we start a Dedicate DFI LanParty UT 790FX-M2R thread for Phenom Database? I would like to but have mixed feelings on this as I do not wish to make users with Dual Core X2 feel left out or shunned in any fashion! That would not be the intention at all but perhaps some may perceive it that way don't know

AFAIK on AMD CPUs, its one of the last processes ->

So yeah, it can be bad BIOS, bad 1066 BIOS code, bad 1066 DIMM support or an IMC error. If you check the system power when you get the C1 error, the CPU is never fully started up, only around 5/6th of it is starting up at most before it reboots/pauses. That would point to IMC failing to start up. IMC not being initialized is what MB MFGs told me that error is with Phenom, especially for my last 3. But like I told you, all of mine did show that problem brand new at one time or another - but when tried in another board, they booted fine. My new 9850 gave the same problem first time and now.
Only ever happens when I clear CMOS, switch off mains power or remove the power connection.
The day it boots, it will run perfectly fine again for months unless and until I do these procedures.

MSI and Abit have not been able to reproduce the problem internally. I've done so much testing and troubleshooting working this error out, 5000 Miss Universe contestents side by side on La Jolla's Black Beach [according to its rules ] would now only have an anaphrodisiac affect on me

Stability: casual daily use, doing everything without worry or caution including benching, stability tests and so on should all give no probelms, ever - that's stable for us. With Phenom the procedure is lengthier than anything I've used before though.

My last setting was 2800 fully Load/WISE stable for 3 days at 1.384v... then did a lot of messing and after 3 more days [planned], decided to test it again -> what a surpirse, it failed WISE stability even at 1.4v now
This is on a CPU which 3069MHz 1.48v load passes P95/AOD/EVEREST/OCCT/Sandra/Benchmark testing.

Thanks for the template Camp, its very helpful to me starting from scratch

LOL, finally they're actually getting a move on as they should.

    Major Reasons of Change:
1.Fixed “CPU Clock Ratio”can not select when use some Phenom CPU .
2.Increase CPU voltage control step by step.
3.Add CPU Voltage Item help string.
Didn't I tell you that there's this bug?

There's another with Special Voltage Add yet to resolve as well as temps.

    Any testers?
Post full details including a WinRAR comparison with a previous BIOS please.

I don't think it's a coincidence that only DFI board is getting this sudden error in high numbers especially because of its RAM problems since the start. C1 is Memory related. My board is the only one getting it for other boards AFAIK and I have a replacement I'm going to check with the same 9850 this week. If it boots fine whilst older MSI board gives C1 Memory initialization error, then its obviously a board problem and not CPU.

And mine is from the earliest released batch of MSI RD790 v1.0. The DFI is much newer though.
I'm afraid but can't test it, no more AM2/+ boards here, never happened to me, all my previous CPU's are running well, I tested Phenom 9500 and 5000BE, all booted fine, with my G.Skill and OEM memory, both 1 or 2 slot use.

Maximum volts applied was 113.07% when testing 3200MHz(HTT=200;HT=2000;NB=2000), I made a table on that 3200 test and realized that more volts didn't work, if fact only booted at 107.02%; 109.15% and 112%, NB-VID=AUTO in all tests, system always unstable.

You plan to RMA that CPU or do you think it was your fault only? I mean both board and the chip are build for overclocking and you ran your cpu in specs at modest higher voltages.
Well, if OCing can be considered Warranty void, then yes, I can say it's my fault not running at stock speed.

Nothing extreme here, never got it more than 113% for CPU;107% for NB, and 2.24v for MEM, in any scenario.

If, someone here get me one board to test, as Tye suggested, I will do it before RMA, any way I already contacted Alternate and explained what happened, I have the RMA number to do it, if no other choice, will be at least 2 weeks waiting, with all the stress that evolves.

Thanks to all of you guys, for your support.

Brother Esau , if you was here I would kiss ya .....(if you was a girl).....

    Bios flashed slicker-n-snot.......

Now, how hot is too hot?????

I know my TRUE is in good contact with the CPU, the heat pouring out of it is unreal. But load temps across the cores are in the high 40's to low 50's when crunching Seti with optimized clients, CPU running 2800mhz....

    Default volts......

    1.3 I do believe

I was scared witless for a second after the flash, cause I edited your command line into the autoexec that came with the 415, but I didnt get rid of:
"echo "The version of BIOS was inaccurate,"
echo "Please remove the floppy, download the right one and re-flash."

I was like, but it was all pretty white, so I figured I was safe, which I was....
