Ok now all this is above my head right now but in time i will learn,
So is the cpu vtt the fsb v? And if im on 1.305v bios /1.28v real that should put me in the 120 110 90 range yes? or should i go with 110 /105-110/ 80-90
Am i going about this the right way or am i miles out lol...
    OH i missed that bit... if i did go with 120 110 90 then do i set the voltage to 120- 0.878v 110- 0.875v

Those GTL value looks way high to me? My Q6600 is stable @3.6Ghz (9x400) with 82/83.
I don't check my PMs very often.

Yes so far but i dropped my ram speed as they say 4 x 1gb can damage the memory controller host when running at full speed over time so by dropping it to 840Mhz 400/800 @ a 1.1 ratio with 4.4.4.12 im getting the same peformance as running it at full speed with 5.5.5.15. This also dropped my lat by 6 in everest.
Im confused as on all my other "ASUS" mobos i needed atleast 1.3v FSB to get stable but people on this mobo are at 1.2v so am i to high with 1.28 ?
Ive now set them to this cpu vtt 1.250v 110 105 80 because it was set to 110 110 110 in my bios.

Would you say that the P35 is better than the X38/X48 for a Q9450?

Using what multi, and what chip? quad or duo?

Would it be worth lapping the PVM heatsink? + NB heatsink?

    Important Update!

The first values that I posted were correct. The X38 and X48 BIOSes are wrong. I have just spoken to DFI and they are going to release a new BIOS with corrected values.

I also have the NB GTL REF values that people were asking me for last night, so I will redo all the tables in the article again, and should be done within the hour

The UT/LT P35, X38 and X48 boards all share the same GTLREF design at board level regardless of BIOS labeling. The first GTL Reference Voltage option in the BIOS supplies processor lands H2 and F2. The second option supplies lands H1and G10.

    Dual core processors:
Core 0 - Second listed GTL option in the BIOS
Core 1 - First listed GTL option in the BIOS

    Quad core processors:
Core 0, 2 - Second listed GTL option in the BIOS
Core 1, 3 - First listed GTL option in the BIOS

thats great to hear . i might do the same since i was getting better performance with 4gb on vista as opposed to having 2gb set at a higher speed. i noticed that straight away during gaming. 4gb makes a huge difference. ill just have it at a lower speed like u and tighter timings.

The point was that the tables didn't correspond with the BIOS screen, so it could have become a bit confusing.

This is the P35 BIOS, which is correct and how the X38/X48 should look.

Here is how it currently looks.

That's why the tables looked wrong.

Anyway, it's all updated now and once you have the beta BIOS (tomorrow hopefully), everything should fall into place

Will the new bios support better Ram performance?!... I can't make 1200mhz with my Transcend 9600.... On my Asus Formula SE, it was a piece-of-cake!

About VTT... How should we find the best VTT for our CPU?!... How does VTT affect the CPU/FSB OC?!

Yeah. As the info you listed is correct the user should match your data to the line number of the BIOS until a revision is released with the proper wording. It would be impossible for one to tune GLT values using Prime following the description in the BIOS with cores 2 and 3 switched.

    Hello everyone
I been reading this thread but i had to stop i was getting tired
I'm trying to find if someone used Geil Evo One PC8500 (5-5-5-15) memory with this board (LT). Im asking because i had to RMA a Rampage Formula which i had problems with the memory (i tried Geil Evo One and OCZ, and it wouldnt post in dual channel!)

My ram: Geil Evo One 2x2GB

    Thanks everyone

Can't help you with the RAM sorry, I've only tested with Ballistix/Ballistix Tracers/Geil Black Dragon so far.

The VTT is much like any other voltage adjustment when you are overclocking. Just use what you need, start small and see if it makes a difference, and with each step, you will have to adjust the CPU GTL REF accordingly.

Saying that, you may not need any VTT/GTL adjustment at all - on my Wolfy and also my Q6600 G0 (both of which are just retail chips), neither of them needed any VTT increase or GTL REF tweakage to hit their max on air, just a small bump in vcore and NBcore.

    Horses for courses really

AnandTech said the exact same thing back then (with the P35), so who is right anyway should the Cores be together (0 and 1) and (2 and 3)?

"Remember up to the 913 BIOS the actual GTL core functions are mislabeled. The actual core each function relates to is shown below:

CPU GTL 1/3 REF Volt = GTL ref 0/1 (Cores 0 and 1)
CPU GTL 0/2 REF Volt = GTL ref 2/3 (Cores 2 and 3)

I'm simply relaying what DFI told me today, there should be a beta BIOS out tomorrow.

I'm slightly confused as the reply you just quoted was for someone else

So should i leave mine alone or keep it set at 1.250v 110 105 80 as the stock was 110 110 110 ? All this extra tweaking is new to me on this board so any advice is welcome.

My OCZ 8500 SLI's that done 1200mhz prime stable with 2.27v on the P35 do 1200mhz prime stable with 2.12v on the x48.

    I also have some OCZ PC2 6400 & 8000 4GB kits & they run fine too.

k ,ive ran sandra for 4 hrs and it seems stable now after changing strap to what praz suggested 800/333
it was crashing after 40min so its looking good now, might run it abit longer then increase mulitplier to 8 or 9.
im sticking with 450fsb /1081 my volts are really high though -nb 1.456
    cpu vid 1.425
    dram 2.35
im scared to lower volts incase it crashes again. my both core temps are around 45c during 100% load .
