thanks pauldozi, for the info. helps alot believe me lol

praz i just set it to 400/1066 strap. im trying to get my memory as close to 1200 as possible. should i leave it at 400/1066? or go with what u recomended (333/800)?
also i left my fsb at 450mhz.
    thanks adya

What scores do you get with everest as ive just played about with mine from 5.5.5.15 1066Mhz with 400/1066 to 4.4.4.12. 800Mhz 400/800 and ive dropped from 8066 to about 7685 with my score. Not alot lost but i can run at a 1.1 ratio so if i did 450 x 8 then i could run 900Mhz but i wonder if i could keep the 4.4.4.12 or will i get errors in memtest???
I guess im gonna have to do some more tests to find out.....

I have had the most stability at 450 fsb using the 266/667 strap with 2x2gb sticks of gskill 1066 ram at 5-5-5-15...these settings yield everest read scores of about 9600 and latency values about 50.1. The NB voltage is about 1.5v. I'm watercooling both the CPU and the NB.

From a memory performance standpoint, are you guys saying I would be better off using the 333 or 400 strap? If so, I assume I would need to turn down the NB voltage a bit too? I have had difficulty getting the 333 and 400 straps to runs stable.

I'm just a novice -your advice is appreciated!

    1/3(p35)= to 1/2 or 0/3 in X38/48 series?

Yes, these are the X48 GTL Ref & VTT settings, and not the P35 ones.

Fixing the typos now, thanks for letting me know

Nice post. I saw the note in the first table that says the values are 67%. Might help to state it again where it's more visible to the user that is just glancing over everything but the actual values. Some will be assuming the values are 63%.

    John,

I've added the (GTL REF=67% of VTT) on the second line in bold green italics, so should be easily visible.

Glad it was of use Pauldovi

Quick question as to use of the table with a 45nm, ie; 63%.

If my math is correct,1.10v x 63%, (0.693) would equate to 1/2 of about 85 and 0/3 of about 80. If that is correct, how would 1 compute the NB GTL REF?

    Yes, I am a pain.

Double check your Swiftech MCW30 installation/tension and thermal paste it should not pass 40oC on a 3/8" Watercooling system with a fair pump...

Thermal paste should be applied like DFI shows you to do I found it the best method as temps goes so far (goop on center and let the mounting spread).

My chipset never exceed 36oC on load.

Just to clear up my thinking on this sliding graph table, my CPU VTT is 1.21v so I should look in the light green section and experiment in the 90-105 GTL range? Does this have any bearing on the NB GTL?

For now, use the first table (last column) to calculate your NB GTL REF - I will add more info in the morning when I wake up.

It's 4am here and I need my pit

You have the same VTT as me acording to this table your settings should look like this:

    110
    110
    80 - 90

    or

    110
    105
    80 - 90

Interesting findings this board actually has a big diference between the cores GTL's!

This might explain why my same 24/7 BIOS settings from my X38 fails Core 0 (JUST CORE 0) Prime95 in 20min and the other 3 cores passes 24 hours loop.

clunk . just want to confirm this is right.

ill set my CPU VTT VOLTAGE TO 1.213
then ill set cpu gtl 1/2 to 110/0.812V
    cpu gtl 1/3 to 105/816v

so those settings are not in relation to any other settings. only cpu vtt voltage ? am i right?
    thanks in advance.
