What case fans would be best for a blow hole? I got some Yate's from PTS but it was stated that sleeved bearing fans don't do well for blowing up or down.

S-Flex (FDB) or Noctua or Sanyo Denki fans (SSO bearing) or Panaflo (Hydro bearing).

Actually my Yate loon fan from PTS blows airflow downwards pretty well. its the curved blade version.

well the problem with having them blow up or down is just that it gets worn out faster because the entire bearing doesn't get completely lubricated causing it to start making noises faster. yea they should work fine but the life while go down.

That's why he wants a different fan, so he can use the Yate for something else if he needs to.

hey , i have a yate loon fan that i ripped out of a dead psu. its only got that 2 pin connector though so i cant use it on my mobo or 12v.
is there a way i can maybe rip the connector off and connect a 3pin but just use two of the pins? or even better if theres an adaptor for it what would it be called ? that way i can google it.

if its just a 2 pin connector thats basically the 3pinheader without the speed sensor you can cut / sand of the indents and slot it into the mobo just find. refer to another fan to know exactly which is the correct point to connect to.

and what a cool site that is.
its actually a psu fan, seems like most psu fans have two pin conectors, so im going to pull one apart and compare it to a normal connection see if it works.

I just got my Blue LED Yates from Petras, it moves a good amount of air considering the low noise it makes but it gives off a lot of vibration and shakes my Accelero S1. Im guessing this is because of the clear plastic frame?

Also the LEDs are HOT GLUED to the corners which is kind of aesthetically unappealing but overall good noise/cfm ratio

hot glue for corner leds will come in handy when those leds die and you need to replace them.

i understand how you feel but a simple coloured electronic tape over it will make it more appealing to me. However take this as an example if just one led dies on a fan in a month will you change all the fans or just that one ?

What about those that use fans that has LEDs but their LEDs can't be replaced. An LED fan with dead leds and that weaker transparent plastic frame, horrible to see that in a casing no matter what you are into.

Was wondering what fans you use and are you happy with them??
I am basically looking for Fans that are extremely quiet and push good air as well, I have the Noctua P12 fan for my True, and i believe you have all Noctua fans for your Antec P 182 case.
I don't really care what the price is as long as i can get good air flow and exhaust as well as being as silent as possible.
I want to replace the Antec fans that came with the case, I have the Scythe Kazemaster controller for fans.
I havent started my build because I really don't know which fans to get and all the technical stuff just implodes my brain =).
With this in mind Ar3s could you recommend the fans i need? 2 for front,rear exhaust and top exhaust as well as the bottom fan near the psu.
Links or anything would help as well. One last thing, the Noctua P12 fan i have on my true i hear is really good??

If you can include the rpm of the fans to get as well would be really great as well, dang i have to stop editing hehe.

Sorry i don't have an Antec P 182 case. That case does a better job at dampening noise then my Silverstone TJ-09 case. I switched from all NMB Minebea High to Noctua P12 cause sometimes at night noise isn't what you need. I got them on offer so didn't think twice about it.

Anything with better bearings than sleeve or ball bearing would do for silence. SSO bearing on the Noctua & FDB bearing on the S-Flex fans are great.
The S-Flex would be good for case / top / bottom. RPM is up to you. so far everyone has stated the 1600rpm aren't noisy. Either way you go they make the kamameter's fan controlling redundant.

Both the Noctua P12 & S-Flex are great on the TRUE.

Thats right. I'm using all noctua p12 fans. they are great for me. noise level next to nothing. I can actually only hear my PSU and harddisk (when seeking) when i game. The temps are slightly lower than what i got with the minebea high speed which were 1900rpm but the noise drop is huge.

noctua fans come with 2 voltage drop resistor cable LNA (Low.Noise.Adapter) & ULNA (Ultra.Low.Noise.Adapter). The fans themselves have a rating of 0.07A (James Bond) so they work well pulled into any low wattage fan controller or direct to power. I love these cause they come sleeves in a speaker cable sleeve and all the accessories in the box as well. 6 years warranty is amazing too.

Even with the fan grills and mesh on my casing the fans make no whine trying to push the air thru. Just like when i place it on the TRUE.

Only problem is after you switch to all Noctua P12 fans you will wanna switch the TRUE to the Noctua Heatsink like me. Which can mount 2 fans easily with fan clips provided, Has a much better mounting. Comes with awesome thermal paste & a P12 fan itself.

I bought 4 Sanyo Denki San Ace's (model 109r1212h1131) and they won't start when hooked up on my motherboard Does a fancontroller make any difference? thanks

Edit: Now one started spinning but he makes a ticking sound... is this what the king of the hill supposed to do? Well at least they look pretty

I'd suggest caution if connecting those fans directly to the motherboard. They require 0.52A (6.24W), which is around double what most 120mm fans would normally need. 4 of these connected to the motherboard may exceed the max allowed wattage for the fan headers. As an example, the Asus P5WDH can support up to 24W.

If it's an option, I'd consider connecting them directly to the PSU (or suitable fan controller).

Regarding the problem of them not spinning up, this may be related to the power-saving features of the motherboard. You'll need to check these in BIOS. If activated, the fans may be under-volted at startup preventing them from spinning up.

great to here that. we just got an official noctua distro in singapore finally. now we can get them cheaper here as well. cheapest P12 so far are $19.95 ~ $20.50 USD.

the king of the hill are 109r1212h1101 not 1131... whats the Amp for the 1131s ? and i don't think anyone has connector the 0.52A 1101 direct to their motherboards. Unless you were looking for fireworks to celebrate the purchase.

I don't have a 1101 all i have is a 1D01 no ticking sound here even when controlled to a bare minimal start.

Sunbeam Rheobus is an excellent controller . It can handle up to 20W per channel, and the extreme has 6 channels each capable of handling up to 30W per channel .

Sunbeam Rheobus 20W per channel is good enough. i have 6 noctua fans on one channel and its sell alive... classic looks.

Rheobus Extreme looks terrible with that plastic and the translucent knobs looks cheap..... sorry but thats my view on it.

You can't go wrong with either, they are both excellent fans.
