I haven't seen stock myself as yet, but i'd still like the option to use the Xeon if i can. My own Q9450 is stuck in limbo with no end in sight, ordered now three weeks and what was once due in stock March 17th is "unknown"...these guys are earning interest off my €300!!!!!!

I ran two passes of OCCT using the latest build, the Auto (1h) and Custom (2h)...both tests passed and said i had stabilty.

Im very happy with the ex38. Have only had for 3 days but it overclocks alot better then my old DFI 680i. I also had alot of problems with losing the raid array. Spent a whole day working out the problem. And yes it was a .01 voltage add on the pcie. All in all the board never needed any voltage until i got the cpu past 3.6. Will be clocking the ram over the next few days. Then push ofr a higher clock on the cpu after. Happy with this board.

If you touch the pcie frequency setting you will lose your array every time. I figured that out the hard way. I just leave mine at auto now.. I ran that occt last night and my cpu is fine the overclock is stable but the bios is not. I keep having to reset my overclock because the bios wants to reset it to normal.

    Hi guys!

Maybe this is a dumb question but on many dutch forums people are still talking about this board not running 4x1GB PC2-8500 (Crucial Ballistix or any other).

Is this true? The DDR2 prices are very good now and I want to buy another 2x1GB set of Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500 to go with my other.

    Thanks for helping

I say RMA the $h177y Crucial Ballistix. I just RMA mine a third time now because the heatsinks don't sit against the memory and the memory chips over heat and burn up. Get some real memory get some G-Skill DDR2 8500 2X 2Gb sticks.

Must be the 3.00 divider you're trying to use. Some are more stable than others.

I'm convinced that the key to good and stable RAM timings is the dividers. 2.40B worked great with my PC8000-PQ's, but I'm still figuring out the best divider for these ones. So far the 2.66D is looking very good... let's hope that a future BIOS upgrade won't ruin it

What mine yes it is stable. Caped is getting the 2.66d setting at a higher speed because he has a 2duo and has his FSB high I can not get mine that high stable with a 8 multiplier. The 9 is just to high of a clock @ 450 for 24/7 for me because I use air and don't care to mess with water but, I can get it that high and bench and it will stay stable but, to hot and to much voltage this has to last until I get the 9450 in here. I actually did bench her at 4Ghz and got the record for a single card score on Vista on futuremark but, that was right before these new 9800 gtx2 come out to though. I bet some one could easilly beat me with one of those now there out.

Thing is, i run several tools to ensure memory stability. I run the embedded Vista diagnostic tool, the advanced test that takes several hours. I run several hours of memtest86+, then i run memtest:

    http://hcidesign.com/memtest/download.html

Then a full round of Prime95 which takes 11-12 hours...that my way of being 100% sure.

I don't see why people waste all that time checking for stability like that. I personally don't have twelve - twenty four hours to waste. I would just rather test for an hour and say it's safe because I shut mine down at night and during the day any way so,, as long as it stable for me while I am on it then who cares.

Why not throw Everest Stability tester into the mix as well

All I do is put 3Dmarks into a loop of about 6 to 10 loops and let it run , if it doesnt crash then thats stable enough for me. I rather use my computer for playing games, rather just constantly testing it for stabillity.

While I kind of understand Richard Dower's concerns about stability, I'm not into hardcore testing myself, which can be very time consuming - not to mention frustrating sometimes.
1H OCCT is enough for me. And if it passes another hour of Crysis heavy shooting, then it's fine for my everyday tasks

Anyone interested in buying my X38-DQ6? I'll let it go for $200, I'm fed up with the RAM instability issues issues I have with anything other than the F3 BIOS... gonna get an Abit IP35 I think.

PM me if interested - I have all the original packaging etc, it's basically in new condition.
