Whoa, just spent like 2 minutes just gazing upon those 9800GX2 cards. Is it safe to say that you would be saving A LOT of space if you removed those monster coolers and slapped on some blocks, haha.

Offtopic for a sec: How strong would your PSU have to be in order to power those cards?

I think the recommendation for 1 is 600watts...

Thanks! I will update my rig's pics once I install the Quad SLi Driver and put in the second 9800GX2

I also know a company that is on prototype stage, and if they go into production they will send me one to test out

Yes, but it is full aluminum...

True on the blocks And better for the Southbridge's cooling...
I guess the overclocked rig at 4Ghz and 9800GX2 SLi will have to make do with my Antec TruePower Quattro 850W. Although they don't need to worry about mechanical HDDs.

Not really...since it's 2 pcb's with a cooler sandwiched in between, unless they find some way to have the cards be closer together, its gonna end up being a dual slot either way

if I ever got an 8800GX2 (which I wont) the first thing I'd do is remove that dumbass casing on it. lets see that slick black pcb!

It's probably some gay colour under the casing - PCB green, or that hideous beige that they used to make stuff in

Just finished leak-testing. Still a fair bit of cable management to go, but I'm done for this weekend...
I think I need to redo the GPUs because I can't get the side panel on because the fan hits the tubing and pinches it. Going to borrow a page from CD and do the cards in parallel with EK Stubbies.

    RIG 1 (in progress):
    Core i7 920 @ 3GHz 1.17v (WIP) / EVGA X58 Classified 3X SLI / Crucial D9JNL 3x2GB @ 1430 7-7-7-20 1T 1.65v
    Corsair HX1000 / EVGA GTX 295 SLI / X-FI Titanium FATAL1TY Pro / Samsung SyncMaster 245b 24" / MM H2GO
    2x X25-M 80GB (RAID0) + Caviar 500 GB / Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RC1 Build 7100

    RIG 2:
    E4500 @ 3.0 / Asus P5Q / 4x1 GB DDR2-667
CoolerMaster Extreme Power / BFG 9800 GT OC / LG 22"

brilliant. nice job on the clean build, and the elbows werent really that bad, just nit picking. :p plz tell me thats not an aluminum topped GTX cpu block. watch out for corrosion. you should try and get a copper top or just get a D-tek Fuzion CPU block
