A complex password is one of at least 1 Capital letter, 1 number and lowercase letters, like 1kkGuTr6N8.

I will post benchmarks later and explain better as for now I can say Win Server 2008 is quite similar to XP, %5 less performance on some tests, some +5%. I have to fix an internal problem with my hardware first, looks like my CPU got a real time flash light bug due to some xtreme overclocking.lol

Sounds like we finally have a winner here! Can't wait for your comparison! Did you compare xp x64 to server 2008 x64, or the 32-bit versions?

    My report on this:

    Hi all-

I was swayed by the rave 20% claims as well, and scratched my perfectly good and "legit" Windows XP + SP3 install in favour of W2008 WS edition (evaluation.)

And before you reply to my comments, get this, I am a legit owner of a Vista HP license as well. That box has been lying unused for a long time now :P

I thought the performance in gaming would have taken a good turn.... but alas, no such thing. The FPS is STILL crappy compared to XP in Source Engine games (like CS: Source.) I for now will be moving back to my XP install tonight.

Is it faster than XP x64? Should I wipe out my partition to install 08?

I'd say it's most unlikely that 2008 would be faster than XP-64. Comparing Vista to 2008 is probably done in the wrong way, since they don't have the same settings in stock. I'd like to see someone comparing them the same services started, and same features used, maybe both stripped down with the same vLite file.

It's not that hard to figure out which version of Windows 6.1 that is the fastest one out of the box, Vista have a lot of stuff running in the background. I'm sure you guys here know how to turn it off, but not everybody. Comparing with stock settings (except for things you must change in 2008) is not a fair comparsion, even though some people think so.

32 bit versions. I have many things to do yet. I do not want to show only few tests, as far as the tests go I can say Windows Server 2008 or Long horn is a must have OS for everyday use. NT kernel is fast.
