we should get little xtremesystems sticker type badges to cover the rocketfish badge. because, although it is a lian-li,,, the generic rocketfish name couldn't be any more gay.

yeah, the place where i bought them from had like 8 or so left... so i will wait a few more weeks until they realize they need to get rid of em. My dads in no rush, and neither am i.
Also, i am using the velcros for my cables and yes they seem to work out pretty well. I like them because they can be reused, replaced again and again. Not to mention they dont look cheap. Also, the cool thing is you can velcro a bunch of cables together and if you need to add another one into the group you don't have to completely undo the velcro, just undo a few inches and put the cable inside and re-velcro it up works great. I got a 10 pack for like 3.50 and they sell for like .40 a pop on frozen CPU. I liek that site and they treated me well. Also, it comes in a roll of 10 for 3.50 fyi.![]()
looks like the cambridge area is selling them for 47.99 as well. asked the danvers store if they could price match, apparently it was a no-go cuz PM'ing doesnt apply to clearance itemsthe manager was a d*ck too, so no matter how much i killed him with kindness, he wouldnt budge.
I went to my Bestbuy after working a 26 hour shift at work (Overtime Baby!).
The Bestbuy in McDonough, GA stated he wouldn't consider it till I bring him a copy of a receipt from a GA store. My reply was if I knew a GA store selling the case for $47.99 do you think I would be here right now.
The Bestbuy in Morrow, GA stated he would love to help me, but do to the fact that all those stores (he looked them up and showed me) have those cases marked as Discontinued items, and his is still listed as an available shipping product. He is unable to drop the price that low, till it goes DC. He was very nice about offering some advice, like calling Corp, and I declined stating, I would find another way to get the deal.
So I got home and called the 1-888-Best-Buy number and started aing fest to the customer service rep about their price matching issue. After enough of a rave, she stated she can't make a store sell it to me for that price that all my "friends" are purchasing it for. But she did the next best thing and went on to say that, your located in GA. You can goto the Savanna, GA Augusta, GA and Gainesville, GA stores and the cases will ring up @ 47.99 without a problem.
So now I queitly awaiting this weekend to go to Buford to see my Girlfriend. And that Gainesville Bestbuy store is 10 minutes from her house, and I will be purchasing one of the cases if they still have them in stock. The guy on the phone at the store said he has never even sold one since the day they arrived.
My GF was also able to work her magic and find out more information on the way Bestbuy discontinues items. The stores that are selling the cases now at retail, will end supply in a couple weeks according to the Manager at one store. And then they will be allowed to start dropping the prices. The Manager even stated to my GF that if you want to try your luck and wait long enough, you may be able to pick the case up for less than $20.
Just thought you would like to know that information.
Now I haven't picked mine up yet, so if your in GA and going to the Gainesville store, either pick me one up and message me (ill pay you back) or save me one, I mean hell I did help you guys out with some nice information.

Yep. IF you get lucky and no one buys any as I explained in my previous post in this thread, then you should definitely be able to snag one for under $20.
Again its a gamble as I said earlier... good luck!!
TRue but they didnt tell you it is also at the discretion of the store manager.... and most of them are a**heads anyways and wont bother with PMing...
Got one of the two remaining cases at the Mayfield Heights, OH location. No clearance tag, just marked @ $47.99.
Stopped by the Saginaw Mi store this morning, was told and I quote " I don't care what this slip says, I not going to take $50 out my stores pocket so you can have computer case" I had him look up market prices and even stores in his market had them for 47.99 and 71.99 but he would not budge he told me to drive to Detroit if I wanted that price and that those stores had those prices due to them not being able to move units. Despite that fact he had 17 of the cases in his display.
I almost made the drive but I already drove an hour one way to get to where I was going. Either way I was really cool about it, wasn't pushy and feel like I was treated like a piece of crap for even asking, this thing is very YMMV.
Suffice to say I will not be shopping at that best buy anytime in the future.![]()

best buy treats every customer like crap. they have the worst customer service ever. the manager at the store near me told me to just stand there like an idiot because none of his employees were going to help him. then i reminded him that bestbuy will replace him in a couple weeks anyway, and that i make more per/minute than he does per/month, and asked him how satisfying his career choices were... i think he was quit a bit more upset than i was when i left
i really wish a bestbuy boycott could be organized. do all your shopping at circuit city, their prices are lower, and their customer service is top notch. and they actually have intelligent people that know about the products and can actually help.
Tried price matching but no-go.
Will only price-match "reasonable distance" which is about 60mi, or maybe within the state if you're lucky.
I bought one anyway.
Great case, but it is noticeably lesser than the Lian-Li's I've used.
Some bullet points:
Good
Very light, comparable to my antec900 at considerably larger size
Very big, I've got a shot of it next to my 900 I'll post later... lots of room in here.
Looks nice, outside and in. Metal is thin and light, but not flimsy or cheap looking.
More than enough room for watercooling without mods, I've got an mcr220 stuffed inside there at the moment, and with my non-modular PSU it's a bit crowded and warm but it works for a temporary setup. 10 minutes with a jig saw or hole saw and you could have a nice W/C loop in this.
Bad
Door is kind of cheap on the front, squeaks when you open it... can't seem to get it to stop even w/ a bit of oil.
Power/Reset switches are cheap, and squeak. These are virtually the only plastic in the whole case though.
Mediocre air flow at best. A full tower case with only 2 120mm fans? You've got to be kidding! I'm going to be putting in AT LEAST 2 more before I'm satisified. With my 680i the case gets toasty fast, and the northbridge & mosfets don't like that much heat.
GPU fan is awkward, would've much preferred a "true" vent fan, one that blows out the door rather than a small slot in the back of the case.
Verdict:
Great case for the coin, easily the best sub $100 case I've ever worked with. Has a few minor flaws regarding air flow, but a bit of modding can really make this case shine.

I'm thinking more for the top panel and side window in case I mess my modd up...
as far as being lesser quality than lian-li, that really isn't true unless you're talking about V2100 Plus or something along those lines. then yes, its lesser quality. but so is every other lian-li. for a point of reference, this rocketfish case is a PC-A71B. the only difference is the PC-A71B has video card supports, they stacked the HDD racks (which you can do in the rocketfish), and they added extra HDD fans and a 3rd HDD rack on the top/back. but if you own a PC-A71B you can clearly see it's the exact same case.
two of my friends got it too. now i MUST mod it in order to stand out :P
anyone know what steps i need to take to paint the inside (the aluminum parts) and what kind of paint?

I don't own one but I have done a build in one. The only thing that I noticed on this one that I don't remember having an issue with on the LL is the door. It seems like they downgraded the quality of the door and the front panel.
But this is from memory, so maybe it's the same. Either way it's a great box.

Stopped by the Brooklyn, OH location.
None on the shelf, tag read $47.99. Didn't bother to ask if they had anymore in stock, store was insanely busy and employees seemed otherwise occupied.
