Guys, I was searching for a place to buy the non-tracer version and I came across this site:

    http://www.priceguidenetwork.com/

    Here's the ram specifically
    http://www.priceguidenetwork.com/com...5664aa804.html

The price is incredible. Is this a safe place to buy the ram from? I'd order 8 gigs now!

    No pickup -

And the RAMs they have are not the Tracer Reds: check the USK: BL2KIT25664AA804

i was told fyi they are the same sticks just the tracers are red.. but the timings and v's and the ic's used i was told are the same as the red's are..

actually i think im torn between the corsair and these crucials after talking with geil on the forums and seeing others experiences with them and their tech support via the forums im not sure i want to go there also most are telling me they take months to get you your rma back if you need to do so.. at least with crucial and corsair i know they are both readily available and their rma dept is both top notch..so hmmm the new 1066 corsairs or these 800's from crucial.. arghhh or wait for the 1066 crucials

What about other timing configs? ~DDR2-1000 4-4-4-x capable? Can't believe it that the first german shop listed on geizhals site sells this kit for only 119 EUR... that's amazingly cheap... By far the best 4GB deal so far and it would be nice to see 2GB micron ICs start dominate in high performance market too like with 1GB.

THanks guys. I always appreciate it when someone can speak up about their experiences with a company.

I'll probably order 8 gigs of the non-tracer stuff when I get my next paycheck.

Since these'll do at least 430mhz, thats all I need for 1:1 w/ my quad @ 9x multiplier. I just want to get back to 3.78 ghz w/ good timings.

Can someone please post pics / video of these tracers in action.

My apologies- I didnt realise I hadnt added those in.

Pics of RAM installed and powered up

These are also now in the review thread.

The LEDs are definitely red. My camera isnt doing them any favours. I cant get a DV camera that can capture the LED flashing in enough detail, sorry.

I've decided to change my mind and order 8 gigs of the stuff tomorrow. If anyone has any reason why I should pass this up, let me know before I order tomorrow night.

They seem to overclock about as well as my G.Skill PC-8000 4GBPQs--my max was about 550MHz, 5-4-5-12 at 2.2v.

I seem to have VERY bad luck doing 1:1 w/ my quad and the GBPQs. Maybe I got a not so ideal kit. I can only get 415x9 stable. Anything higher is totally unstable. My old 1 gig ballistix chips were WAY better. I could do superpi in windows w/ 445x9 (unstable) and ran 420x9 or higher stable.

I'm hoping I can push my luck w/ these.

    Spyrus,

I took a look at the EVO's. They seem be good, although I haven't seen any reviews of it. They are 30 bucks more a kit and I'd rather save that 60 bucks honestly. I just want something that'll do 430mhz 1:1 and my current kit won't.

By the way, THOSE THINGS ARE HUGE!

I think they are same height with Dominators.
They worth the money now that have dropped a little (25 € in Greece)
and have the same price with 2x2GB@8500 kits.
They are also cheaper than 4x1GB@8500 kits so they worth it.
For 1:1 @ 4-4-4-12@430+ is guaranteed with them but is better
to use divider @ 5-5-5-15@560+ that they can do.

I still haven't ordered yet. I'm kind of on the fence about it. The crucial are 60 USD cheaper here. Thats why I'm still looking into the ballistix. The evos are freaking nice looking @ the resultf from the thread BAR*B*Q mentioned.

Since I'm one of the weird people who just want a 24/7 stable OC, I don't think my quad is capable of much more than 430mhz x9 1:1, so extreme high end isn't a goal with a 2x2gig kit, plus I plan on running 8 gigs of that stuff, so no max effort by these bad boys either way.

    Spyrus, I'm asking b/c I don't know, but why is 5:6 better than 1:1? I thought C2D ran better 1:1?

Is better because your memory would run higher and have more memory bandwidth.
From my test 460MHz@4-4-4-12 is almost the same with 540@5-5-5-15.
You can even try with your memory at 400@4-4-4-12 and 480@5-5-5-15 to see
the difference. That is why you ran a divider for 24/7 since fsb needs to be at 470-480 max.
The only thing that will change this is if running on 1:1 and have better performance level than 5:6(not in the case of maximus formula)
