they test competitors products in there
lot of the competitor offerings fail the tests (not talking about any in particular here)
JG and others probably know more about this than others >> lot of manufacturers will "relax" the testing to fit their products in a higher category = easier to sell. Good example is PCP&C 750W PSU and Seasonic X900 900W PSUs. Same PSUs >> one rated with looser than other yet they are exact same PSUs eek
temp testing, fan speeds and other considerations are very important in testing PSUs among other things and you can "play" with figures to get the rating you want sorta thing
from my understanding Corsair don't do that....they stick to very tough parameter testing for example using that blue oven to test the PSUs at 50C or whatever the figure was i can't exactly remember now.
I think one of their competitors using the same OEM in 1kW PSU is rating theirs as 1.2kW hehehe >> you get my point right
