Got work this afternoon, so decided to use the time wisely, and go as far as i can. I don;t think i will get the time to mod a new cooler and go further, but still think the result is good, being my first contest. hopefully i will stay somewhere at the top!

Well here it is. Screenshot of the result. Possibly my final 3dmark03 score, unless i find ways of going further!

memory as you can see has finished at 605mhz. Used 2.18 to 2.19v to get that. any higher or lower just seemed to cut out, and going up above 605mhz cause the system to freeze.

Scored were done with the 8400gs controller doing the memory, and the x850 delivering the vcore by 3 wires. still on air, but with a 12cm fan at 2400rpm doing the cooling this time round.

Good luck everyone on these last few days. I have got a hectic schedule ahead now, and know there are still some people here staying quiet with no results.

Well, after much pain for very little gain, here's my meager update from tonights 3hrs session.
Clock can go up, but the score just sits still heheh. DAMN YOU SAMSUNG RAM.
The core and shader clocks can go further im sure, still only hitting it with 2.1-2.15V. Temps needed to be around -30C tonight for these clocks. Having a hell of a time with pouring, weirdly it will not pass trolls lair without the pot increasing in temp while it runs, if the pot is stable or getting colder it will always fail.
Had a time with '01 so no score there.

My replacement stick of RAM has arrived now the card is dead Might have given me another couple of hundred points in 2001, not sure, never tested with one stick.

I am testing an 8600GT with one stick and at only 650/900 it gives over 50000 points, so it goes to show how much the 8400 is handicapped. I can hit 74000 with SLi. I'll be playing with that tonight.

Nice to see a bit of movement on here again. awaiting what johnny has to offer!
Anyone got any tips for 3dmark01. I ran through at 810/2050/605 and got 26,500 area. i am thinking maybe the core means more, but sure i can gain some more if i know the tweaks.

Awaiting pics dino. Looking forward to seeing how this card fits with the riser and TTBT.

There's the LOD tweaks we talked about before, need a recap again? Not sure how much you run 2001 but

    1) From boot up and the first run you may get more in lobby or car games over subsequent runs.

    2) People will often run car low last as every few runs it gives a higher score by a percentage.

Wow, I saw Dino finally, or Dinosaw as we say in the UK

I've had far too many drinks tonight to even attempt to update the front page without possibly wiping out all my hours of cut and paste and move up and down to even consider it, but when I sober up tomorrow I'll stick you in as air cooled. Very nice work, good luck with taking it further, Paul needs a run for his money to keep him keen till Friday night.

yeah man wings are very good but i lose out to Andy in GT2 and GT3

looks like it's just our LOD settings

i was worried about this riser card impacting on scores but it seems to be ok

i used the same driver for '01 but lower clocks and i think that wasn't a restart either so probably with the right clocks and restart i'd get closer but Andy is pretty good at '01. i would have to bench for a few extra nights to creep up there

too bad the card looks dead
i'll try pull off the freezer trick and stick it under F1EE and see if it will take 3v

p.s. you have no idea how happy i am they are still OK dude......i love this kit of RAM......best piece of silicone i ever had

Comparing Andy again cause he's got similar clocks

    Code:
Car Chase - Low Detail 357.25 FPS 369.54 FPS
Car Chase - High Detail 233.73 FPS 237.54 FPS
Dragothic - Low Detail 335.24 FPS 360.13 FPS
Dragothic - High Detail 227.38 FPS 237.84 FPS
Lobby - Low Detail 344.75 FPS 360.64 FPS
Lobby - High Detail 230.64 FPS 239.2 FPS
        Nature 134.45 FPS 141.34 FPS

    damn G H Z
    some serious FPS here wow

    Code:
Car Chase - Low Detail 357.25 FPS 385.79 FPS
Car Chase - High Detail 233.73 FPS 253.12 FPS
Dragothic - Low Detail 335.24 FPS 352.92 FPS
Dragothic - High Detail 227.38 FPS 240.09 FPS
Lobby - Low Detail 344.75 FPS 353.81 FPS
Lobby - High Detail 230.64 FPS 240.88 FPS
        Nature 134.45 FPS 142.79 FPS

i used LOD 2.1 which works well for 8800 cards on all tests except nature (4.4 for me)

    probably the problem

    order i ran was LL>DL>DH>LH>CH>N>CL i think

i think running 2.23v on RAM may have killed them
i could bench 555MHz on RAM with 2.21v and i just bumped to 560 and reran '03 and noticed some serious artifacting during the run which is ok hgahahah >> i was playin with volts during the run and got it up to 2.23v but didn't help....knocked it back to 2.21v and finished the run

after that i tried '01 = bluescreen with nvdia driver error message
    tried stock = crash
tried superpi at stock =error EEK
one stick at a time was fine for a few loops before i stopped it
changed cards over in system = superpi perfectly fine
ran '01 on 8800GT and ran ok through Cars so i stopped it and went to bed at 4am >> or was it 5 hahaha

You gotta run '01 on a fresh boot. I used 4.3 on everything - DL, DH, LL, LH, CL ,N, CL x 20

You lost ram MHz on '01, that hurt you also

fingers crossed freezer trick works like it does with my RAM

You probably just need a reboot for the ram (power down, walk away 10 mins, power on).

Mine has done that a few times and it was usually cleared up by doing that.

Gonna test the Sparkle today I think since nobody seems to know how to do an overcurrent mod around here lol!
