Q743A seems to be leading the pack (4.3GHz 24/7 stable at 1.344vcore). But that is just my result

Just got done helping a friend with his e8400. Here is the comparison between his chip and mine. What interests me is that his CPU has a higher "stock vcore" yet uses less vcore to stay stable at 4GHz. Temps are about the same using ultra 120x. I would think it should be the other way around... Maybe the higher FSB needs more vcore for the CPU to be stable? Any thoughts? See below.

You're correct, it takes more voltage to get 8x500 stable than 9x444.

The 743 and 745&46 seem to do very well. I have a 745 myself S spec SLAPL that can do 4300 at 1.36v 4500 at 1.45v and can bench at 4800, max is 4900 on water.

They seem to be doing very well Q743A here. 4.3G @ 1.36v/ 4.4G @ 1.392v with a TRUE. Ran 1 hour of Orhos, which is stable enough for me. The others I've seen have done well also.

It idles at 28C and loaded irrc at 55C for 1.36v and 60C for 1.392v. That was the cpu temp. The cores loaded irrc at 65C and 70C, but then they idle at 50C. So who knows how accurate they are.

it isnt at all me thinks. mine is at 4 gigs , 1.38V and idles at 50 and loads at 70. strange is at default it idles at 44...

has anyone got his cpu ihs off so far?

do you fiddle your fingers while your palms are sweating, waiting to see if it will boot all the way into windows, praying for it not to BSOD... also while you have on your mind "I'm better off not checking my temps"? I do.

I try to boot at 2000fsb and it bsod's... anyone have experience with this... once I set volts way high like 1.52 and it made it to windows and then shortly after BSOD... is that the overclock or something else. I'm running Vista 64 by the way.

How do i tell what my Batch is? I have a low VID (1.1125) But im still fooling with voltages at 3.83GHz, Going to try for more tomorrow night but this 3.8 is a guaranteed stable. I have the processor box, is it on there?

On the box itself, the series of number after FPO/Batch# is your Batch#. On the CPU, this same series of number will also show as the very last one on the IHS.
