So I get home from work yesterday and I sit down at the computer and it has shut down on me. Push the power button and nothing. Look inside at the post code and its at C1.
I power down and clear the cmos with the switch and try to fire it back up. Still nothing, stuck at C1 post code.
A quick search on the second machine and it looks like C1 is a memory error. So I pop out the 2gb crucial ballistix and throw in a single stick of gskill pc2-6400 and voila! it fires right up.
I think the crucial is junk and its going back. Got 4gb of gskill on the way, i got the PC2-8000 set from newegg.
This makes me think, does it matter which dimm slots the memory is in? I had the prior ram in the blue slots 1 and 3. I have seen some posts where people say slots 2 and 4 are better?
