Whats the stenciled text on those two large IC's grau so we can have a stab? The pictures are, umm, not too good to be honest.

    Regards

    Andy

Sorry, a bit drunk ! Just seen the Anpec unit. You need to measure resistance pin 4 to 7, it will likely be between 500 and 2000. Then set pot to 20x. Measure voltage before and after and you should see a small jump if it is successful. Then slowly wind down the resistance on the pot.

    Regards

    Andy

I got some good pics of the asus, i'll upload them in a few minutes as I have to go eat...

I also found 500+ free points in 3d01 by enabling something thats locked.... info when I get back

    edit, back!

    20,849 2k1 675/1674/432 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9331586
    8,056 2k3 689/1674/432 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=5724017

For free points install nVstrap in Rivatuner and enable the hardware masked ROP's. It doesnt actually seem to work but it gave me free points... so whatever lol. Enabling the professional features (Quadro stuff) loses you some points, not worth it.

Tossed a Zalman VF700-CU on my card, had to relocate 2 caps to make it fit. My R600 Ed HR-03 doesnt fit.. doh. Temps are down from 80c loaded with 18c ambient to 40c loaded lol. No real gain in clock speed but almost made it through a run at 689/1750/439...

    edit

My E4300 stuck at 3ghz is killing me lol...

So STEvil, how well does it scale with voltage?

I enabled that hardwaremasked unit in my 8315run aswell gave little, but everything counts

    STEvil's scores updated.

If I do a search I can't see any new score! I assume STEvil you can see your new scores by going to the search page and then just putting in 8400GS? I cannot see your scores in the list!

I've noticed that the vmem mod is totaly useless on my card.

Without mod I reach 435MHz max Increasing memory voltage gains nothing. Anything above 435MHz results in a system hang up...

Did the vmem mod help on your cards?

Have you thought about the memory timings? plz take picture with your timings on the memory of the card with nibitor, like I did, would like to compare then all.

sorry, forgot about that. i checked the timings yesterday and they are the same as on your card. forgot to take a screnshot.

i changed the timings and flashed the bios but that did not affect overclockability of the memory.

    memory is "vdata"

okay that sucks, hmm gonna try it monday to flash it. and loosen all the timings, and see if it does anything, I got quimonda 2,5ns memory. Hope I figure out the vmem mod for my asus card to test if it helps, have not found the soldering points yet.

    @jan

we have the same crappy memory on the xfx card's overhere, only thing what realy helps is cooling the memory with extreme cold air, and sweetspot for the memory is 2.00-2.06v

That is the same on my card also. I have 2.5ns Samsung DDR2, really blows. Finally have some free time today so I'll re-bench my 8400GS and play with the timings. Here's to toasting/bricking a card

Finally got my card today .
Jetway 8400GS - 512Mb - 459Mhz core - 900Mhz mem. Has Hynix mem, seems very different to most here, its on a larger board. Anyone have a clue as to vmods for this thing?

If you can snap a better picture of that IC on the top right of the card near that choke and those ICs left of the choke on the bottom left of the card.

100% overclock on gpu but poor 01 score....
    all aircooled

need a faster cpu and higher mem speeds on the card
