tried 94 to 105 from clockgen from windows and no results, i also fixed voltages for Nb and Sb, and i definitively have this problem because i realised that in everest it says Type of Bus :PCI Express x16 @ x1. WTF? i cant understant this, this mb is cool but this thing sucks! i cant understand why asus has never fixed this thing! at least i know isnt the memory, its strange but this only happens when more than 430 FSB

    bios is 1004
now i put 90 pci-e and i put higher voltages ( i didnt need them to be stable) and everest marks @X16. I launched a game in which i had sound corruption and lag and it seems to be fine for the momment. I will be testing it.
PD: i put the latest bios 1226 and i had the same problem with the pci-e X1 and i put back this old one because i cant boot past 440 FSB.

That may be the problem. That is an old issue that has been fixed by a bios update. I would go with #1219 or 16
bios 1226 has an OC problem.

PS: There is a way to fix the x16 with bios is 1004. but, evry time you edit the bios it will go back to x1. I would go with bios #1219

    That is interesting laragirl83,
You are the first person I have seen on several forums that has good OC with the 1226 bios. Do you think it may be because you have the Wolfdale? ASUS has done a good job in my opinion keeping this board working with the current CPUs. I have noticed that some other brand 965 motherboards have not had the bios updates. If I wanted a P35 or later, I would buy it. I have set up several computers with a P35. But, for my system, I see no reason to change.

Let's be clear. ASUS bios never solved the PCI-E x1 issue, this is not true. It is a hardware limitations fixed in new PCB releases. I tested two P5B Deluxe, same C1 revision, one old, the other new. The new one, doesn't have the problem. Note also taht it is not a NB revision bug, as many C2 boards also have the problem. It is suerely a problem in the PCB design or elsewhere.

The only thing causing it on those defective PCBs is the NB voltage above 1.45v. Starting from 1.55v it happens, this is a well known issue since the begining. I tried all bios versions, it won't solve it. The only solution is a poweroff by removing the electric plug completely. Any soft reset will give the error again.

My two cents, live with unplugging the power cable when you reboot, or RMA it, you could get a new PCB bug free

I agree about your fix. But, I have not had the 1x PCI-E issue in over 8 months.

    Exactly

Johnny resumed what I have experienced too quite well......any soft reboot on a crashed vga or other will invariably give a x1 pcie.....unless you have a very low multiplier (high fsb if you a re looking to OC max) or low Pcie........only solution is to cold reboot after a long wait(sometimes even haveto take out the pcie devices )

our friends at BE have discussed the subject quite extensively too.

BTW with my setting I've worked out the pb too and never ecounter it.

the 1219 version doesnt support the wolfdale cpu's as i read in the Asus page. And as i see in other sites, the 1226 its perfect for wolfdales but bad for conroes, i cant OC more than 440FSB with 1226 and i have now 505 fsb with 1004 with the same configuration

Now the million dollar question. Will the Xeon E3110's work with this mobo? There are a shortage of E8400s at them moment & I decided to go ahead & buy one of these, along with a 2x2Gig Patriot Viper kit.

Hi, i'm newbe, this is my first post. I hope to learn a lot in this forum.
I have a question for you: i heard that the P5B deluxe FSB cannot go over 460 in a 4GB ram system. Is that true?
I have 2x1 gb ram, P5B deluxe with FSB 470, e6300@3,3 Ghz...and I'd like to take a 2x2gb ram kit, but i don't want to slow down my fsb......
    Thank you for your answers.

    Thats a joke
I had 4 sticks of 1gb modules, and I could ran them 1:1 with CPU at 500MHz (1GHz RAM speed) in CL4...! So no worries! P5B Deluxe rules!

    Depends...
I would say if using 2*2gb less of a stress for the mobo...
