i find it funny i tried to clock my quad @ 3.2ghz 1.35v and it wasnt stable so i went back to 3.6ghz 1.4v and it was fully stable again

Probably because most G0s are capable of 3.2ghz on stock voltage, so why would you have 1.35v? You probably had to much voltage for a low clock lol. 1.4v is about normal for 3.6ghz. I'm prime stable at 3.6ghz with 1.35v under full load, 1.42 in BIOS (HUGE vdroop)
Same thoughts, the only viable option from Zalman is the 9700, but it will be noisy and limited shortly. A Thermalright Extreme would be a better deal for air cooling

I never heard that underclocking would cause a failure if you keep the vcore high too. Please, don't state what you don't know about...
He's not talking about 1.6v and 4GHz, he's talking about a 3.2GHz at 1.35v. If there's a problem, it is suerely a low vcore not a too high one causing hang ups
Remember, not all CPUs are the same. You're stable 3.6GHz at 1.35v, I'am at 1.33v, I was at 1.44v on my previous G0, and others are stable at only 1.5v...

If you can do 3.6ghz on 1.4v, then you certainly do NOT need 1.35 for 3.2ghz, voltage is NOT linear correlation to frequency. Therfore my point was that he would be using unnecessary volts, and unnecessary wear to his CPU, and if it were stable it would require closer to stock voltage for 3.2ghz.
So what exactly is it your baiting over?
Mines pretty new batch, and I have ~1.43v set in BIOS which is only 1.35v real.
So 1.4v just seems normal for 3.6ghz, mine needs a lot more voltage to go over 3.7ghz stable so I dont bother. 3.6ghz stable and lower volts than my E6600 is good enough for me.

I ran SPI 32M and 2 hrs prime and it seemed to be stable. Then tonight I noticed my temps at core 0/1 (especially at core 0) were bigger than core 2/3 and after a SPI32m it produced an error.. Generally core 0 can reach 10-12Celcius higher than core 2/3. Core 1 is 5-6Celcious higher than core 2/3, but low enough not to cause a problem with stability in torture tests.. The fact is that cpu0 which depicts by far the higher idle/load temp is the only one that causes the instability even at 1.4vcore. It reaches at 75C-78C sometimes and of course causes instability, while the other cores don't have problems whatsoever. Cpu1 reaches max 70-71 cpu2/3 max 68-69..
I tried to up the vcore to 1.425 and 1.45 but it only made cpu0 reach 75-78C quicker.. So the problem seems not to be the vcore but the hight temp that only this core depicts under load..
So what do you think is the case here? Do I need to test something else in the settings? Or are we talking about a uneven cpu surface? It could also be my Ultra 120 extreme that has the problem..
What do you suggest me to do ? It's really weird.. Cores 1,2,3 seems to have no problems with temps whatsoever.. 1.4v seems to be ok.. 1.45 certainly does not help all it does is raise more the temp in the cpu0, which is already high @1.4

I had the exact same thing happen with one of my Q6600s. loaded temps were 68-59-54-54. I lapped it and now temps are 52 across all the cores.

Yes thank you DragonOrta..That's what I believe myself.. I was thinking of taking the cpu back to the store and request a change due to abnormally high temps in one core..
But then again I'm not so sure if I can find easily a cpu that does 3.6 @1.4v "stable" (well I can't really call a cpu stable when sometimes the same core fails with torture tests, but technically with a lapped cpu , it might have good O/C potential..
Am I right here or do you think that I should take it back?
If anyone is thinking something else that it might help then by all means plz say it..

The Q6600 in my sig that's at 4.15ghz is a 737B.

I was gonna say earlier that I was unlucky needing 1.35v load for 3.6ghz lol.
I don't think I am lucky at all though, because I need over 1.5v for 3.7ghz stable so its not really worth it.
I am also a bit sus on my PWM heat sinks getting wicked hot on my X38 DS4, I am using setting I know work regardless of how hot it is, but sometimes not toally stable unless PWM heatsinks have active cooling.

I just replaced my old Q 6600 B3 stepping with a new G0 stepping with batch #L737B075. I had been struggling to get beyond 3200 MHz with my old processor, and was using over 1.400 volts to do so. My temperatures were always at or near 70 C when running Prime 95.
I have just started playing with this processor, but the results are quite encouraging. I had planned on going with a new E8500, but the reports of sudden CPU death put me off a bit. Then I did a lot of research about Q6600 G0 performance from this thread and a couple of others to create a list of desirable batch numbers and went shopping.
I spent two days going to the various computer stores in my area, and it came down to a choice between this L737B075 and an L738B023. Both CPU's looked good, but the L737 series has had some great results so I went with it. This is what I have achieved so far:
Note the low core voltage, and VID is just 1.2125in Core temp 0.96 with all CPU features off (ony have multiple cores enabled).
Max temperatures with my new CPU during 10 hrs of Prime 95 at 3432.96 MHz were 56, 52, 52, 55. This was with an out of box CPU with new thermal paste.
Compare this with my B3, which was lapped to a 2000 grit finish, and temperatures of 67, 63, 63, 66 at 3207.88 MHz. It was a good processor, and I got 458 FSB out of it, but I know the new CPU is a LOT better![]()

I can also do SPI 32M @ 1.3V (haven't tested yet if it's stable there, and you wanna know the fun part? 1.26V did SPI 1M.. Haven't tested more there I saw some inconsistencies in the O/S and stopped..![]()
My temps now are very low not only due to the very low vcore but also due to making my cpu cooler "sit" properly in its place..![]()
I'm stable for 3 hrs prime95 now with this clocks with very good temps for aircooling and rediculously high room temps..![]()

what cooler do you have for your C2Q? I used a left over thermtake retention bracket for hardmounting my FuZioN because I didn't like to just have screws hrough the motherboard without backing.
