heh.... newegg is so wacky with their prices. The P35 UT and X38 LT are now the same price! 239 for each. The P35 actually costs a few cents more with shipping. Who woulda thought both boards would be the same price one day? Makes me happy i went with the LT version of the P35. Price hasn't changed from the day i bought it.

u get the benefit of pci-e2 but that will be on the p45, its benificial now that cards can use 16x pci-e to have the 200mhz slot over the 100mhz

    Bikerz:

I would appreciate it if you would not post my Email address for every spam trawler on the web to pick up. I won't beat around the bush with this. I am skeptical that the headers are damaged. If they were you would likely see directly associated components like the manual power and reset buttons not working. I have been doing this line of work for a long time and such specific forms of damage are exceedingly rare. That said, anything is possible, so I won't entirely discount the possibility. I don't mean to come across as belittling, but are you sure you hooked up the leads properly? Case manufacturers do not adhere to a standardized cable marking system.

Recommended memory lists on our website. A difficult topic. Suffice to say I only attach as much value to such lists as user experiences show me. Perhaps it is not the strongest answer, but only take them at face value.

DFI RMA policy. To be clear MBPro is a distributor and the terms and conditions they offer are relevent to users who purchase boards from them. They are an American company and their conditions do not apply here in Europe. If a person purchases a board at a European company they are subject to the terms and conditions of service of said company if they seek service thru them. If a European wishes service on his product directly thru DFI NL BV, they becomes subject to the terms and conditions of this branch office. Simple common sense really.

In any event you have indicated that the supplier is willing to take back the product for service. Just stick with that process and it should see you thru.

As a side note, I have to say that I have spoken with the staff from MBpro from time to time, even thou I am here in Europe. The company seems very organized, and the staff friendly and easy to deal with. A solid company to get our boards from for all those on the other side of the pond

Board is good, but my Q6600 might have problems over 3500, but i got it at 3500 stable. Might not hit 3600 with desired Voltages. (Its a L741 Batch), V right now is at 1.41

Board is very picky with dividers, i really think we need a new bios again or something else is wrong with the dividers on this board.
Some divs dont work at all. OTC XTC sticks might also be problematic once i get in the 520+ range. But then i still didnt tweak that much. WAY more to tweak than on the old NF4 lanparty...and this alone took weeks to find the right settings

    Also..not too big on Vista 64 here..but i dont have a choice since i need DX10 and 4GB.

(Edit: Reapplied TIM according to AS website...might have a little better temps now and diff between core temps is definitly not as high anymore...first i had 5-6 degrees between cores..now 3)

It means you made it farther than the 88 part...lol. checksum error defaults loaded is what it means to my board... i get that if i get too crazy. it should come up with a screen to tell you that, try hitting F1 anyway to get to set-up, or F2 to load bios defaults, and continue.... I may be wrong BTW as I didn't look it up but mine has done as I just described, several times. also my 3870 X2 just died this morning and it was doing that then as well. so it may be video initializing.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. Any idea if it was related to something other than the motherboard?

those codes are not always "errors"...7F is not an error, is just a status message where in the bios it is. See above list, scroll all the way down.

OK, I feel like a total retard. I can't get Vista 64 bit to load on my new system. It gets to the copying windows files step and then tells me that is could not assign a drive letter to the partition, because it does not exist. it then says that the error occurred while preparing the partition for installation. I am running 2 150gb raptors and I thought I had configured them correctly for raid. I am somewhat of a noob to this boards bios options, so can anyone give me an idea on where I should be looking to start fixing this? Thanks.

P.S. So far, the board is working, even with the minor trace damage I reported earlier. I have a FF on the board poster, so I assume it is ok. These wouldn't be related, would they?

It doesn't even give me an option to format the unallocated space when selecting drives. This is wierd.

OK, I just got an error on boot. it just said reset port error for one of the drives and the raid failed. Now one of the drives is not showing up when I boot. Lovely! Think I have a bad Raptor?

When you get to the screen that asks where you want to install Windows click bottom left to load the RAID drivers.

I had this problem happen when I was installing Vista X64 with a USB key still plugged in. Remove any USB mass storage devices and give that a try... (if your Raptor isn't dead)
